I have translated a whole 2 more pages of the FL novel between yesterday and today.

I'll... Probably try and post what I have done once I reach page 5. I don't claim to be the best translator, just trying to use this translation experience to reinforce my Japanese as best as I can. Wonder if we'll get a Star Crossed World novel anytime soon...

I genuinely can't promise I'll get all too far into it, but I'll definitely make an effort to do so. I'm transcribing the physical book (helps me practice Japanese keyboard inputs), and then writing my own notes on words I don't understand (which includes a lot of kanji), and after which I give it a second read to make sure I understand the grammar and tone in which it's all being said, THEN translate it to English. It's not the fastest process but it helps me learn the language better I think.

Hydra and Dragoon and both opposites and souped up versions of Air Ride machines on the roster.

Dedede doesn't strike me as the type to be well-versed in magic, which requires learning and concentration. Within mainline games, his control over the elements seems like something he taps into unconsciously. He was unphased by the electrical sparks of his hammer in SSU, and the artwork suggests those sparks were coursing through his body. The surrounding elements started getting incorporated to his attacks in KF2 when he manipulated Meta Knight's tornado around the stage. The same attack is seen in FL except he whips up the winds on his own, and there are references to KF2 in some of the figurines which sort of legitimizes the story mode. At this point, his level of control over the elements is restricted to the conditions around him and arises when his mind is clouded by revenge or fury.

I think he can only do it when the weather is snowy enough, and he can only make flame projectiles when there's lava and fire heating up the area. He can't really summon anything, just manipulate the phenomena around him.

doing stuff for the editor for rendering tilesets. basically you can make a folder in a specified location, and then put in a bunch of images that'll be loaded based off the image name, so i dont have to load in the actual 3d models for every tileset and people can make custom ones. Much more manageable with the 6 games supported.

Just finished the DLC; why is the final boss's intro song refer to panspermia? From Wikipedia: "The theory argues that life did not originate on Earth, but instead evolved somewhere else and seeded life as we know it." Could the species of the forgotten land have descended from the Elfilis species somehow? Astronomer Waddle Dee said meteors have landed on the planet many times before. That could explain why Fecto Forgo's goo form and Chaos Elfilis's death animation only include enemies from the Beast Pack- none of the Pop Star enemies are assimilated even though Sir Kibbles and Hot Heads appear in the Fecto Forgo fight. Morpho Knight and Starries also get eaten, but they can fuse with other things, so they could be an exception. It also might recontextualize the name "Wastes Where Life Began," which always seemed a little strange to me. If this was intended, it makes the people who left the planet a bit more interesting
