He's not really wrong, loot has to plan ahead and use their resources better than most other decks. Fusing a loot card into the 1pp damage spell to draw can deny them 2 face damage and potentially lethal in future turns if they don't draw another card to make that loot spell again. There's a lot more to fuck up with loot than Mid Sword. Even hoarding loot cards instead of advancing their crest can be game losing. It has a really tight window in which it can kill other decks in this heal centric meta. Unless you curve into Zirconia while your opponent bricks their early game and you auto win but every sword deck can do that.

That's about the only way to win in this meta when all the meta decks run so much healing, yeah. It's way too easy to run out of steam, which is why you see some lists opting to run Tablet. It's running significantly less draw than Mid Sword by cutting Olivia and some copies of Amelia. Crest is easier to play on curve and win with and has a lot of draw so it's not running out of steam in the same way, loot is a t1 deck but the t0 deck having so much healing makes piloting Rune a challenge. Mode, Rune,and Dragon are also packing a lot of healing. The Izudia forest lists are too, loot has the same issue that portal has with a lot of their burst being tied to SEVO effects. If the opponent counters your early game, you're basically fucked and the t0 deck has 2 different early game cards to do 3 damage aoes. Playing both back to back is an auto win for haven even against the strongest Sword Zirconia openers.

It depends on your opponent's deck.
Against loot sword the imperative is to avoid dying to an early Zirconia, so you keep Witch's New Brew, Melvie and/or Penelope, Sagelight Teachings, Edelweiss (if you run her) and Stormy Blast.
Against spellboost rune the gameplan is different depending on whether you're going first or second. If you're first, you want to focus on getting your DClimb to 0 cost as soon as possible so you hard mulligan for that first and foremost. You can also keep Witch's New Brew, Insight and Homework Time. If you have DClimb in your starting hand then you mulligan for your 5 drops since you need those to build your spellboost counter. If you're going second you're at a natural disadvantage since your opponent will be able to DClimb at 10 mana first, so you want to be aggressive. You still mulligan for DClimb but after that you want a two drop, Anne&Grea specifically (you don't evolve Bergent going second if your opponent is spellboosting a lot), and Norman to try and be aggressive with a double golem play. Save a Kuon and at least one Demonic Shikigami for your turn 9 so you can use your extra PP to make a Noble Shikigami with at least 14 (15 if your opponent has the Bergent crest) defense to save yourself from Satan->DClimb->Astaroth.
Against Crest Haven games end up being really grindy so you mulligan for DClimb and Satan, once you have those you fish for 5 drops and healing (Sagelight Teachings and Norman).
If you face any other deck, you should be fine with a standard mulligan for DClimb, Witch's New Brew, a 2 drop, and a 5 drop.

I completely destroy loot players almost every time by aggressively mulliganing for early game and then having healing(every deck is playing 2 or 3 Gil on top of other heals, you will have healing most of the time and Gil allows you to heal their early game chip while removing 2 or 3 targets and healing for 2)

If loot draws well and I brick then yeah I lose but Dragon got the new 3pp orca to help their early game, Haven got a 4pp spell that clears board and has a lot of 4hp wards(that double as early game protection to set up the 4pp 3 damage clear), and Abyss got notApollo, 3pp deal 4 damage to a follower(you can play this again 2 more times in a row) and the 4pp deal 3 damage/heal 2 follower that can both pick apart.

The entire point is that Sword isn't auto win right now, not that Sword should always win. It was the first few days when everyone was playing unoptimized lists without so many extra Gil copies in them but that's because it's a very aggressive deck and those shine during the first few days of a new set.

Loot Sword requires good resource management in the current meta because every point of damage matters with this much healing, if you vomit random shit it's too easy to get countered and lose because used your 1 damage Blade in the wrong way. It's really no different than how aggro Abyss ran out of steam and folded to healing Albert gets cucked by both G&Y+ an evo and all the 4pp wards Haven runs.

I'm at GM1 so unless you're got more than 50k points of games played this set, that's doubtful. This is playing multiple decks, I only crafted Sword a few days ago for the chest event to get them done quickly and having actually played the deck I realized that it's not as oppressive as other decks that I play. And having played those other decks, I know that I typically do beat loot sword unless they high roll. You don't always high roll, you have to use your brain during that time. Not playing a loot card 3 or 4 turns earlier to advance your crest to get 4 damage before the opponent heals out of range can lose you the game. That alone makes it harder to pilot than something like Crest Haven.

Not that anon. I somehow managed to have a high enough winrate to get to diamond this season with this aggro list. I don't really recommend it if you intend to win a lot. This meta feels extremely hostile to aggro in general, and the difference between the winrate in sapphire vs the winrate in diamond feels noticeable. But win or lose the matches will go fast as fuck, and you can just run people over if their early game stumbles at all. It probably helps that some people might be mulliganing with the expectation that you're going to spend the first half of the game doing nothing as mode abyss, and then coin Beryl hits the field.

You'll probably want to swap to a deck that you're more comfortable winning with once the chest appears. Expense-wise the deck isn't that bad. It's 9 leggos, but everyone and their mother has crafted Odin/Gilnelise, and anyone who has played any Abyss these past few seasons already has their Aragavy playset. Sometimes Gil acts as removal but often she acts as extra face damage from hand with the prerequisite that something else is already on the field and about to hit face.
