It staggers the new dragonroaches, which is pretty good.
Also, dragonroaches are bested by basically any AT. Even just medpen weapons into the wings will do good damage.
If you have the Spear, don't forget it has a lock-on range of 300m, so you can completely block roaches from even coming after you in the first place if you keep your eyes to the skies. Be vigilant, be proactive, not reactive.

I mostly use the Adjudicator (have since it got reclassed from a battle rifle to an assault rifle).
There are plenty of assault rifles worth using, especially with customization.

Just tried to play Hellmire and realized that the Dragonroaches have the Leviathan problem of clearly not having been balanced for open air maps with no overhead cover.

One thing I love about this update is that some of the previously meme pick tier stuff finally has proper use.

Mechs are good for cave diving, dynamite is good for clearing light and medium armored bugs, expendable bazooka is good for double tapping dragoons etc

Feels like things are finally tying in together, and we were just beta-testing scraps of different ideas before this.

Either lower the difficulty or experiment with new stuff my friend. Squids are solved by any kind of mg or autocannon since nothing has armor above heavy pen (not counting leviathans), and bots are the most flexible faction in the game. Take a railgun or AMR and you'll be doing just as fine as if you brought a RR. If you still want to complain about not having AT, then fine, just take EATs or a quasar instead, because they'll do the same thing.

Consider Chemical Agents for the gas nades, they're the best CC throwable in the game. Gas dog deserves a mention for being very deadly also.
Cutting Edge has the Blitzer which is the best "shotgun" in the game, 250 damage of AP3 and infinite ammo. Everything else is mid.
Viper Commandos has the best AP2 AR in the game, and an armor passive that gives a big ergonomics boost to all your weapons, making heavy shit like the HMG actually bearable to target switch with.
Force of Law has nothing of value at all.
