I mean dangly shiny keys retards will never understand there's more to games than what the clickbait youtuber told you, so no answer given will sufficiently explain to you how she's a good support, but not significantly above what other units and combos can offer when it comes to opportunity cost.
Especially since many of our encounters have gimmicks beyond "ermg im buffing muh 1 hypercarry hory shittu" or we have encounters that, ya know, actually deal damage and you don't really want the dead weight if someone else is just providing more necessary synergy.

Like looking at a normal Makoto situation, you still need Granny. If you're also running Ayaka, then Wonder + your Nav are responsible for keeping you alive. However, because Wonder and your Nav are dedicated to this... you're now losing out on an offense Nav and/or Wonder using Dionysus or Dominion. That opportunity cost is a large drop in buffs.
Now the net tradeoff might still favor Ayaka, but you're looking at it like Ayaka's this massive 200% gain in power, while the opportunity cost makes it more like 25%.

And now that I've explained all that once again, I'll get called a schizo just for explaining to people basic teambuilding mechanics and how to look at a situation for oneself on a level deeper than being a retard.

I strongly recommend dropping one of her higher end preferred gifts very late into Bond 12, just to reduce the utterly dead 40 Bond times. That said, there's plenty to burn Yen on in the game, so you're naturally likely to stall out at 40 Bond hangouts.

She's a supporting unit who works better with some (Ann, Motoha, Kotone, Shiratori, Jonkler) than with others (Makoto being so hard glued to a 2nd character) and especially ones whose Highlights don't stack very favorably or at all (Ryuji, Yui).
And a lot of the more relevant content we have is 2 team scenarios, sometimes with gimmicks.
Like she would've been great to feed Wonder during that weird Kohryu we had a few weeks ago... were Companio bosses actually that difficult or worth minmaxing.
But if you look at a more "normal" Kohryu like Metro's, yeah you'd really like to use her with Makoto there, but there is the problem of it just dunking Concentrate into Psycho Force directly into Makoto's face. Which either might mean benching Ayaka, or just praying to RNJesus, depending what level and damage values it is as a target.

If incoming damage is an issue, you might have to make some decisions how to balance a team or two so both don't die. For some characters like Ann, that would be a lot easier than for Makoto. And it may be less "Ayaka's stronger with [character]" and more of a "These 8 characters are better balanced if I split them like such".

It's more serious but frankly I don't feel like it's improved. If you told me it was the same writer, I wouldn't even be put off since it leans heavily into recycling themes and traits from base P5... arguably MORE so than the first 2 Palaces.
I'm not going to call it "bad", I'm just going to call it about as mid as Palace 2.
I think Palace 1 is still the best one so far.

However, Palace 3 is more of a two-parter. But with the way the antagonist behaves, I'm not exactly optimistic that the second half will improve my feelings on the first half.

If you struggle look at your cards. Your chars should really have largely +25 cards with fitting main stats and the correct set.
Also do NOT forget your fifth slot. That one is super important, though obviously the forced trial in a story fight is nothing you can do about (and is no issue to begin with, as trials are actually built).

For example pic is my Mont I used a lot together with Queen in all of the new content. (elemental coverage and just nuking things down) All cards are +25. Weapon isn't uncapped at lvl 70.
The only char I used without a full +25 was Vino for a few battles where the goal wasn't just dealing damage (for example Daisoujo), but she still has at least +20 while being level 70/70 not uncapped with 5* weapon.

I can see people forgetting about this part. A well working slot 5, and maxed cards in general go a LONG way. Skill levels are downright whatever in comparison past lvl 6. (not to say useless, but that comes after basic +25 cards)

that's all you need for now, there's no event going on. level up your characters as much as you can (your weapons and persona skills too) and get every persona you can (even the ones you don't plan to use since you get schema points for them). wait until level 60/70 to farm cards, for now you can just equip and level up (no need to level them up to the max level) the ones you get from chests.
