There's various debuffs you can pick, one of them made EGO skills cost 2x more to use. It was removed right before it hit live servers, since it apparently had an interaction that made it a buff.
The only interaction that considers EGO costs is the fruity pebbles, so it probably allowed your expensive EGOs to actually win a majority of clashes. So as of right now, 45 is the cap for adversity since you cannot find the last 5 points.

Dante was nest born however like Salvador he became a fixer in order to advance his station or out of obligation. the conflict itself was probably not a war between wings but a internal civil war inside his nest between limbus equivalent of the Guelphs and the Ghibellines. Beatrice was a color or at least highly ranking which would tie into the source material Beatrice being portrayed as a higher and more powerful figure. it would also explain why Vergillius says has a personal stake in Dante since a fellow color put him to the task of guiding him or he does so out of respect to her memory. Dante transitioned from being a fixer to a politician inside the nest and became either the head of the wing or a high ranking member of it, over time splits would form and factionalism would produce two new sides which are the black and white guelphs. he ends up getting betrayed and loses everything leading to exile. Current Dante doesn't look like he used to be fixer material however i think a possible explanation might be he lost his body somewhere on the way literally becoming exiled from himself. "aspect" is a relationship between two planets, perhaps "engraving your aspect" might be engraving either a possible you or past you onto your current self.

Anything that mentions charge, most importantly the gauntlet, the gifts from MotWE (try to get as many of them if possible) and the ones that you can get from Hatred and Despair, you also take advantage of charge being almost mono-blunt and get as many blunt gifts as you can get.
Then you have to fix your skills to be able to reliably build potency quickly (because potency is what is going to make your skills all reach clashes around 50 or so), you also have to take into acount that by the time you get close to floor 10 charge count becomes a non issue, for example, the multicracks and R-Lu spend a lot of charge with their S2 and generate it with S3, which means that you need to get more S2s than S3s because: spending a lot of charge in first turn = a lot of charge potency = better clashes
W outis works similarly but she instead spends her charge with S3. QoH Don is there to do lots of damage, she quickly reaches absurd numbers of charge potency once she's equipped with the gauntlet, she will do a lot of damage with her positive skill 3 and do AoE when needed (normally first turns when the rest of the team has yet to build potency).
