I always wondered about association and “ownership” stuff in this game series because I even think back to just how physically long we went specifically not getting CoO and Warmind’s IB ornaments for and just how Comp ornaments, the y1 Vanguard shit, and the Faction rally sets as well from the DLCs. You have to find a way to make the community accept that getting a static roll of a gun that is obsolete once the next update releases is the objectively correct way to do things.
Raid releases, full set of armor and weapons, you don't just get loot for every kill you have to get lucky, that's your farming incentive, and when the next raid comes all of your stuff is powercrept by that loot, but you actually need the power from raid 1 to do raid 2.
The only cure is to run this like an actual mmo.

Fruit might be the most valuable resource in the game. My advice if you’re just starting or haven’t gotten too far in Rising is to pick 1 or 2 characters and funnel everything into them. Sounds obvious but I have 0 experience with gachas so I was keeping everyone I unlocked pretty well upgraded. Now I’ve got a lot of slow chipping away at realm of the IX for fruits ahead of me

In a lot of ways that's probably not far off. You consider how Destiny always was something with extremely strict limitations as to what it could be physically be, what they could do with it. They coasted ungodly hard on vibes, over the top marketing and other absurdity because at the end of the day there wasn't an awful lot of substance in larger areas of the game. It's not unheard of for a studio to make a decision they know the players hate for the overall long-term health of a game, but I'm not sure what the benefits (perceived or otherwise) are here.
This won't drive up engagement, which has been their main attack point since Heresy.
This won't drive up retention, which has been an issue since The Final Shape.
This is a direct attack on player sentiment at all relevant levels of play, so it's not a "feel good" patch.
The only thing left that I can think of is that they want to increase the pressure to use Avant Garde/Touche because they want a smaller sandbox to work with when having to make balance considerations for endgame. Either they're making moves to allow them to downsize dev hours on D2 (to either liquidate or reallocate those devs), or the strain of having to constantly chase balance for the top end is putting too much pressure on the devs and the more casual players.

Bungie is trying to, at the most benevolent reading of their design intent, force feed the playerbase their veggies to make them stop crutching on the same busted combos they've been using for a year or more. However, the playerbase isn't having it, and would rather starve themselves, or go over to Li's house where his mom has funny cookies with words in them.
Bungie needs to break the glass and put out a "junk food" patch that just lets players go nuts and not care about balance for a bit. ANYTHING to get people in the door, at this point.

I’ve said it for years the demystifying and trivializing of the Nine was going to push me over. This game has always been guilty pleasure popcorn but it was one of the few cool things in this game and I loved Season of Drifter’s lore books and visits with all the referential shit being opened up and all that. I guess the only thing I can be happy about is Cocytus space station didn’t get ruined and still could exist as just a weird cross roads. I legit thought they were gonna put the raid there. Yes it can drop Tier 4s, and you can get your tier 5 prime from it as well. I genuinely have no clue how the scoring works for pvp, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s almost random because you can technically get that completion of an activity % chance rate to see the prime. But yes 400 GR9 I’m pretty sure opens it up for drop quality . Def don’t level in pvp unless you hate yourself, also with 400-500 being like 10-400 on Tuesday you’ll basically see better shit easier as the leveling goes quick. I’m guess 500+ is going to maybe be for some of the highest conquests?

Music of the Spheres is excellent for what it is, essentially a concept album, but how it was used in d1 wasn't actually that great. It was ham fisted into place. Remember that amazing track for The Last Array? Remember what you were actually doing in that mission, killing packs of 4 hive repeatedly while a percentage filled? It was totally mismatched.
There are a lot of as strong"OST" tracks that are well scripted adaptively over the years.

CE had some neat environmental storytelling, like the leadup to the first encounter with the Flood, and that entire level had almost no music. 2 and 3 had more spectacle and relied on the music more to create a complete package. Pretty much yeah, basically if you get the Del Lassi-4 Scout Rifle and apply a green shader to it, whenever you get another Del Lassi-4 you can apply the green shader for free. Its basically a consumable to unlock the ability to put that shader on any version of that specific weapon.
