Because the buff isn't a generic daze or or impact buff, it only applies if you have a stunner on your team. Every time we've had a buff that led from one banner into the next, it's always been designed for a character coming on the next banner. So since it's a buff specifically for stunners, that means the first agent in 2.4 will be a stunner.

Idk I keep trying this game again and the conclusion every time is that it's just bad.

It's a game about boss fights, but the fights are horribly inconsistent and poorly balanced because they're made for one specific team comp and the timing of everything wildly changes with a different team comp.
It feels fun to barely get them done with a team comp it's not made for, and not having their BiS weapon and so on,
But funnily enough the fights can feel even worse with a "good" team comp which is constantly freezing or shocking the enemy, say like the mech last Deadly Assault, which stops it from doing its attack chain which will daze a ton and lead into chain attack. So you actually have to sit there doing fucking nothing for 10 seconds if it's anomaly meter is almost full lmao?

There is obvious problems with the limited controls they decided to go with, only having basic, special, and ultimate/burst/whatever. You'd think they'd have learned from Genshin and HSR that it's better to have a 4th button. And both had an issue of having to make every ability 5 paragraphs of text to add depth to them because of the limitation of so few buttons.
It actually has LESS buttons than Genshin single Genshin has a jump and some abilities have an interaction with the jump. Surely there is a way to add another button on a mobile UI.
It feels especially egregious on SEED where you wind up constantly wiffing abilities due to the control limitations and how it's simplified for mobile.
They also had Wuwa to learn from, with its 3 extra buttons and which has done all of this fine and you can use any reasonable collection of characters for end game, but they simply didn't. All the money they pump into this game that they make from HSR and Genshin, too.

A lot of the characters and art is great but this game design is atrocious. And not just in the boss fights, but also just what you do day to day. The most fun gameplay is the events, which is completely different gameplay.

Again, it buffs Rupture because the DA starts during Yidhari's banner and she's a Rupture Agent. It also buffs Stunners because when Yidhari's banner ends, the next banner is going to be a Stunner. We've seen this same thing on every banner. The last Shiyu buff in 2.1 buffed Physical and Electric damage because after Alice's banner ended, SEED's started. The last DA buff in 2.2 buffs fire and Rupture, because Orpheus is Fire and then Lucia/Manato is releasing in 2.3. The last buff in 2.3 buffs Rupture and the Stun class because Yidhari is Rupture and then the first character in 2.4 will be stunner. This isn't some big mystery, we've seen how DA/Shiyu buffs will offer a sneak peak at the element or role of the first Agent(s) on the upcoming patch.

Maybe there's posts like that there, but I've never been there. I'm sure it's a common line of thinking given how the game has flopped compared to the expectations.
Funny thing is, I don't think HSR ever had high expectations either, is the funny thing, and it consistently matches Genshin and is top 3 half the months.
HSR clearly had a pretty small budget on launch yet performed so well. It feels like someone at Mihoyo was like... we struck gold twice in a row, lets put tons of money in this next game, ZZZ, and I bet we can make even more. Only, outside the launch and 2 relaunches, it keeps performing so badly because it is such a flawed game. Somehow, the biggest flaws in this game aren't the gacha but just plain bad gameplay.

Based on the dev interview Zhao (character with big weapon) will be releasing along side the male martial artist with a gentle face, who was specifically noted to be a powerful, on field damage dealer. Doesn't sound like that character who will be a stunner, which sort of leaves Zhao as the stunner by default. Unless she wasn't the character with the giant weapon discussed in the preview in which case she won't be releasing until 2.5 or later.

What Rupture buffs, Sheer Force? Pan's buff is single target so this niche would be completely inaccessible for anyone not rolling Lucia. Fufu already gives Rupture-centered buffs that being said, Sheer Force is being saturated so having a stunner that provides you non-Sheer Force stats (crit damage and decibels) is ideal.

I do think she'll be a stunner but IMO it's more likely she activates and/or buffs Ether Veil in some capacity. This leaves Fufu alone for being a generalist stunner/BiS for YX while tying her into whatever their new HP-loss gimmick they seem to be playing with now is.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, like a DPS stunner? Because Qingyi, Lighter, and even Trigger all explicitly ask for Attacker as their conditional. And the teams they all were made to play on are with attackers. They are functionally meant to be "attacker stunners" even if Qingyi/Trigger get forcefully grafted onto Yi Xuan without their additional ability active.

It should have been like... weakens the enemy, so their next red-flash is a blue-flash that counts as being dodged even if it hits while doing a DoT and amplifying damage done.
And freeze should have been like... only freezes during stun. Otherwise, increases how soon flashes show and gives more leeway in dodging them. Increases the next freeze that happens during a stun.
It's just really dogshit design how anomalies ruin the fights. And again, it's not just how vastly the timing of fights change with what characters you use compared to what the fight was designed for, and how wildly different the comps perform compared to the one the boss was designed against, but even good performing teams that get really fast clear times or points feel awful to play with how you'll have to stop attacking to not trigger an anomaly or how they drift their highest burst outside of the stun windows etc.

Hugo/Vivian are conceptually polar opposites filling in untapped team niches, and Seed/Orphie are kind of their own conjoined gimmick meant to be played together. I never did say ZZZ's story is bad or worse than Wuwa's. It's... okay. It has a huge ass flaw in the post apocalypse retconned story and shit and trying to force it to be slice of life while still having slivers of that backstory since there was no way they were going to drop Void Hunters with Miyabi being so popular. It has some great cutscenes. I only think it's combat is bad, which is important in a game like this. I'd say they're about even on story, but Wuwa has less of an excuse for why it's bad. Gladiators was a bad choice as it's always done fucking terribly to have Gladiators in a future setting. And there's no excuse for not bringing Shorkie back when the story is dealing with Black Shores. They could have easily fixed this by including older characters in the story and not having a Gladiator theme. The only time I've seen future Rome do well is Star Citizen. ZZZ's story is bad because of something they can't really control anymore and they just constantly gloss over.

I don't play games for the story. I play to have fun. I watch shows and movies and read manga and books for the story.

My Wuwa I don't have much. I just started like 2 months ago. I bought into the incel game genshin ripoff jokes and only recently gave it a try and it's my favorite gacha next to HSR now.
The game is more f2p friendly though so just the Phrolova, Roccia, and Shorekeeper that I have works fine. I've been able to just save for characters I want since it's not constantly super shilling brand new characters every patch.

I can generally first try at least 20k the end game in ZZZ but it's just not fun. It's either frustrating or boring, no in between, I'm never experiencing the fights as they're designed to played and at their most fun because of a bad core combat system and so many negative interactions that come from it.

Yes I realized it is also a turn based RPG, and as far as that genre goes they play differently in that they require different strategies. Persona 5 is way more about managing resources in encounters that you can easily stomp but don't have the health or magic to do to every enemy while HSR is more about, I dunno, having better built and geared units and a comp that works against whatever your up against. If someone loves Persona 5 and you recommend HSR to them, you shouldn't be too surprised if it doesn't click in the same way.
