Well, I was talking about using tools like textractor.
But speaking about translating game files, they have its difficulties. In some dialogue files, the sentence is not along the character's name; so even giving genders, AIs may mix them up like a human would get lost trying to guess which character belong to each sentence.

Even you can have very ugly cases like Kichikuou Rance, which files are a clusterfuck between split dialogues, commands, different events, and code lines. I tried to translate it and the AI messed up in each try.

When I used textractor, I used some "tricks" to force character names inside the dialogue for a more appropriate translation, in many cases worked, but in other ones I had to change the character "name" for reducing the problem. Trying to using those "tricks" to fix every translation and stopping for adding new names pissed me.
But I found a worse problem that made me quit using MTL to my language. In many cases it mixed up the subject and object in funny ways.
For example:
