Like, if Team A has the item advantage but Team B objectively outplays them in a teamfight, but team A still wins that fight because of items, that's a little bullshit and demoralizing. And it's all quite incomprehensible with all the numbers and shit flying around.

Any tips for building Paige? I've been able to carry with McGinnis and Paradox, but I find Paige struggling to get the finishing blows and not offering much to their team aside from a shield that gets cracked quite easily.

Vyper might've been a more interesting character as a RATATATA gun character if literally every M1 character didn't want to build large amount of fire rate either because their damage relies on it (haze stacks, infernus debuff, mina love bite, etc) or just because it more efficiently gives you higher DPS compared to the general +dmg items.

For whatever reason, my two opponent's in mid just kept brute forcing fights at the start which they kept dying over, and later on they kept split pushing and trying to backdoor
Most of my teammates didn't fare much better, but they at least slowly stopped dying over and over again once laning ended

Spirit drifter is good and because your range sucks anyway youre not sacrificing your ability to kill walkers. It's surprisingly strong and feels less dependent on snowball

As someone that plays both spirit and M1 the game is PARTLY balanced between the two camps, spirit should probably get a slight bonus or just walkers should not have as MUCH resist. Spirit heroes get you early pressure lategame gun heroes win you the game, they should probably just make early kills more impactful so there is more pressure as opposed to just letting spirit also nuke objectives. As it stands right now I bully the Haze early game on Lash for example and take her camps but she's just right back up farming some other safer part of the map until she can just rape everything.

One big issue I do see is a lot of the strong M1 heroes also are allowed to evenly split their damage between spirit and gun, that is not ok and should be looked at, makes it way too hard to build against them and actually defend your shit as well, mainly just nuke Seven though.

i do not get this game. Brawling is bad but team fights make or break the game every other faggot ass hero is great at split pushing at the same time, none of the defensive items feel like they do anything unless you are so far ahead in farm it hardly matters....the fuck

imo if you want to play support gun ivy and be useful, you should run toxic bullets, inhibitor, and ricochet. If you throw in tesla rounds you can run stuff like suppressor and mystic slow to have additional ways to debuff enemies just by shooting at them and it still combos well with ivy thorns. The basic idea is to just debuff the shit out of the enemy team whenever they're shot by you.

she's carried by being quite fun, the problem is just how bad she is. all of her abilities are frankly fine, it's just that the base character they're attached to is dreadful.
her gun has shotgun falloff, kelvin's firerate, and vyper's inaccuracy. not to mention it uniquely has the worst damage in the game by a mile, but that is compensated by love bites. however, that does mean she has poor interactions with items such as monster rounds and mercurial magnum.
her health is the lowest in the game, paired with the lowest health per level as well.
she has 1 less base stamina than default.
her base movespeed is in the slowest echelon, sitting with the likes of abrams and bebop.

The DPS is actually the same if you compare "equal" damage items vs fire rate items.
But anti-fire rate still lessens the effects of any bullet proc debuffs. Obviously this applies to characters like haze or infernus but it also affects items like tesla bullets or lucky shot which have a % chance to hit. The slower they shoot, the worse those items become.

Sure it's not an outright counter but neither is bullet resistance. If you get more damage items then you're gonna deal more damage whether they have resist or not. Resist only lowers how much extra damage you're doing.

Pretty much yeah. Lash relies on cooldown burst damage, his gun is terrible and his 'escape' cooldown is not as reliable. Similar to Pocket, you have to disrupt on-going fights, but you can't greed as much because, unlike Pocket, your gun is bad, you have no damage amp and your sustained DPS is terribly low and only good for finishing off people on very low health. Doorman is really fun but when I get him I'm basically accepting I'm losing my game, he's very team reliant and even when I build gun on him you don't threaten objectives much. You can also get focused out really easily he falls apart like paper.

He's definitely not a very stable hero. Even after the nerf building around his bell is probably the most reliable way to play him, though it might not be the most high impact in every game.
Echo shard cart is also pretty good but it's more reliant on positioning and can be hard to utilize if fights are chaotic.
Gun build can help you solo kill some people, but you won't match up to actual carries or melt objectives, so it's a bit more niche imo. Might be worth getting a few gun items early and pivoting to more utility, I haven't tested extensively.
I always rush 2 points in bell for laning, then max cart. The rest depends on the match.

I don't think cart needs a buff, it's very good already and I think it's cool that it requires some skill to use. I want that to be part of Doorman's core identity, personally. And with doors you can always find an unexpected angle to toss a cart from, which is part of the fun.
What I really think needs to be fixed is the placement of doors. Cart would be easier to use as well if you could reliably place a door behind people in the moment.

Came back to this game since the new update, been in the beta since August last year and fucking hell, how you people can stomach this game now, I have no idea.

The art direction they're going in with the menu is utter shit, but the main issue is these new heroes. This Mina character has an ult that just fucks you upside the head, so you buy knockdown or whatever, but even then you can get fucked around. So you try and communicate with your team but 1. They don't use mics or 2. They don't speak English, so you just watch 5 people run around like rats caught in a cage. Same goes for Victor. Just absolutely unstoppable to the average idiot and it turns out, the average idiot is in your lobby.

The most egregous thing is that this game is just boring now. It's just flat out not fun. What's the point in busting ass for 30-40 minutes when you can get some retard on your team fucking it up for you, and then your skill rating goes down? I know it's not the end of the world but it's still fucking annoying. Why we can't have independant skill ratings based on performance + win/loss + KDA, I don't know. Feels like it'd be a fairer system, but I guess Valve wants to make a nice skinner box for the world.

Can someone explain Wraith's 1 to me? Even after pressing 1 again after the first cast it still follows my crosshair. How do I get it to lock in on the enemy?
Also what's the lore on the puppet prosthetics? I noticed Shiv has one too. Looks cool

The writing is terrible in this game. Only a third of the cast are interesting as characters. Valve said they got the TeamFortress writer/art team to handle dialogue/art for the game, but I don't see it. Every class in teamfortress was funny and interesting.

Vindicta yapping to Billy about how ineffective he is in political extremism was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Vindicta:

>did not connect with Billy that they are both people who have been wronged (or at least perceive themselves as wronged) by broader society
>Vindicta talks using academic phrases straight out of college essays (systematically dismantling, nobody talks like that)
>Vindicta has been isolated from America for 300 years at least before the first spirit rift whatever thingy

Now multiply that by about half of all hero interactions. I hate millennials.

I think with the Vindicta conversation, its supposed to point out that unlike Billy, Vindicita has a easy thing to point at for her life (or unlife) being the way it is and how she can rectify it.
For billy, its a little bit of eveything. Corpos, Big Gov, Magical regulation... he percieves so much unfairness at such a grand scale that he can't really do much besides lash out at the world in general.

No, see, that's how an ~academic~ talks neutrally in an article or essay. It's Vindicta's personal grudge, yet we, the audience, see none of her emotionality or grief, her desire for vengeance. We only get a patronizing tone of Vindicta, to Billy. I don't really care about seeing Billy being constantly put down, he has such a bland, one-note personality that I can't suspend disbelief

I think my problem with this game is we've yet to have a character who actually suits the time period. The closest is Seven but everyone treats him like he's insane and dangerous when, outside of being a prisoner, he doesn't come off like that. But 1920's America does not exactly translate to Current Year, it isn't like you could have a jester character who did minstrel shows or somebody who participated in the scramble for Africa. Instead you have characters like Paige, Billy and Drifter who come off as weak and gay,
