I don't think so. You can capture viruses by defeating specific variants in combat, and send them off to the virus breeder, then summon them via chips, but it's more of a timing, opposed to direct control.
Then there's the 'rare' viruses in BN5, but once more, they were auto-pilot when fighting for the player, and only used in virus vs virus battles
Command Mission also had mechaniloid capturing, but I don't remember the finer details of those.

For whatever reason, I was thinking the BN-Zero thing was dual gamepack gimmick - where you needed both carts slotted into the handheld ala Dawn+Aria of Sorrow - but that didn't make sense because they're both GBA games.
I also remember the SBM3 cards being mentioned in Nintendo Power, that would give you stuff like power-ups, and some secret levels.

Yeah, it adds him right outside of the transerver room being melancholy. I had a couple of the SMB3 cards. They didn't give me any of the cool power ups like the feather cape or anything, it just gave me two extra levels which was kinda cool but I only had the two and there was a ton of them.

The anime and EXE games are also the dominant view of MM in Asia and MENA. It's really the western world that think of the platformers first. Latam definitely home in more on X whereas English speakers/Europe equally focus on Classic and X.

Autobrother is a mechanic present in Star Force 2. The game basically gives you a singular offline brother so that Double Trible is usable. In the context of the collection, having the correct brothers using the correct cards and correct form is very important for PvP. Because Star Force uses online features more than BN, you have real content locked behind online features which they might believe it goes against with what LC games propose since they're pretty much archives of games, artworks, music etc. So I was thinking they might bring a global mechanic that allows you to set fictional brothers so that you wouldn't have to rely on online connections. Ninja x Saurian, Saurian x Ninja and all Multi-Noise are the forms locked behind online features and there's also things like certain Star Force 2 gates and a few upgrades bosses in Star Force 3.
