She has finally reached a good healthy state IMO. She's exactly at 50% from Phantom to high Ascendant. At Eternus she's still at 48% but it's fine. It's only the lower ranks where she's dominant because there she can play as a hypercarry and they don't know how to shut off carries.

I'm new to MOBAs so I watched a stream from Metro (had no idea who he is I don't pay attention to streamers), game 1 he spent raging at his lane partner the entire time, game 2 he got the same lane partner on his team but not in lane, paused game and bitched in VC about it and how they should just quit, and then played out lane as BIlly, only to heavy melee every fight, get parried and throw the game. nobody buys resist/counter items anymore, they just flowchart a build.
you can be playing against Abrams, heal ivy, Drifter with vamp burst, and Victor and the biggest anti heal item on the team will be toxic bullets (only bought because flowcharting)
forcing players to think about what they buy game to game would be a lot better than allowing custom build pages.

I'm struggling to use the portals in any useful way. 99% of the time the enemy team has more than 1 brtaincell between them so know to stay well away from doors during objective pushes.
I've found an interesting build that focuses around backstabber in lane with portals but again, it falls into the category of "but bellspam would just be better for less effort".
Add to all of this the janky portal placement mechanics and he just feels underwhelming to use, with opther heroes doing basically everything he does but better.

I figuratively can't do shit against any of them, Haze out damaged me, I have no damage against both of their tanks. I'd say I did somewhat well during the laning phrase (solid deny and what not) until I fucked it up when I died when tryna kill them because I realized their damage outputs are way higher than me.

one thing to note is that the buffs are shared with the teleport target (if allied) so avoid teleporting into enemies unless it's to defend a lone objective, ideally teleport into your gun build allies (buffs gun more than anything else)

it's an excellent chase AND escape tool, it can help you close distance or CC whoever you are chasing, helps you flee since it covers a good distance and gives you bullet dodge

Is battle vest better than opening rounds?

I've been doing autism DPS tests with all the various DPS buffing items in the game. I've completed the tier 2 items and on paper, Opening rounds gives the highest DPS bump.
But here's the catch, I then calculated your DPS when the enemy is above 50% vs the DPS of when the enemy is below 50% then averaged them together. It turns out your total DPS would actually be equal to that of the stats provided by battle vest.
You have the exact same time to kill vs a 1k health target as battle vest straight up.

I've had my suspicions about this item being good but this definitely helps the case. That being said, there's still a lot of chaotic variables to factor in. You drop their health to 50% faster which allows them to be more quickly killed by teammates. If your M1 character has any damaging abilities (i.e. wraith cards, infernus napalm, holliday barrel) you can use these AFTER their health gets below 50 to kill them faster and mitigate the DPS loss of opening rounds. There is also obviously the fear factor of you being able to drop their health faster than they can drop theirs, making the opponent potentially start running away. Very interesting stuff imo

The problem with the raw DPS items is that they often lack the utility the other items of their tier have. Intensifying mag, opening rounds, and long range technically have higher DPSs than kinetic dash, active reload, and battle vest but in practice they actually have a worse winrate than the multi-purpose items
Another thing I've learned when studying items to make builds is that technically T4s have the highest winrates even adjusted for price but in practice doing a T4 only build would be stupid because you're stretching out your power increases way too much to be useful a majority of the time

Intense mag is just a bad item. It takes a full 3 seconds to get the buff and the milisecond you stop shooting, it begins decaying so when you reload you're starting close to 0 again.

Opening rounds IS good but again the problem right now is that most weapon heroes want fire rate far far more than raw damage because of how their kits work. The faster you shoot, the more easily you'll stack up your debuff and this also synergies with non-hero kits that are very good i.e. tesla bullets or toxic bullets.

Finally, long range just DOES not help like 80% of characters. Even if they have a gun that can work at that range....do they want to stay that range? does their kit make sense to play from a far? This only applies to GT and Vindicta. Maybe paradox if you want to do a meme carbine only build.
