Aside from having Fervor built into him, he has Toughness, one of the best passives in the whole game. It renders him practically immortal if paired with cards like Silent Mist or abnos like Courage and Magical Girls. You can also combine it with Udjat passives or All For Hana to make him even harder to kill.
Carver of Scars, while kind of niche, lets you inflict a LOT of Bleed AND it's considered to be a Combat Page effect. This means it stacks with Digging Shank and Snake Prey (so does Dark Cloud). It's good to slap on either Feint or Mangle.
Rupture Wound massively increases his damage output. If you build him as a Slash-focused keypage, you can add Double Axe and now he's dealin +5 damage against enemies with Bleed. You can push that number even higher if you really want to.
His main problem is 2-6 Speed and 3 starting light, but as a SotC keypage, he works really well.

Ting Tang Hong Lu having an easy 18 rolling evade that can be boosted to 20 by having LCCB Ishmael on bench is one of the more funny things in the game.

Like there's only a small handful of fights that don't just inherently get flood gated by this unless they can kill him turn 1 which isn't even easy since his evade also SP heals him.

OK so it's a joke story, nothing is supposed to make sense, we're just running on episodic shonen arcs now.
None of the dialogue even feels real, the entire thing feels like a dm forcing a campaign, the dialogue at the beginning was bad, the Wei fight was forced, the drunk guy fight was forced.
