To all my fellow island tycooners, make sure you aren't skipping out on your rebirths by leaving them unclaimed after a long session of grinding. Once you've gotten the holy nugget, all you need is 1.5m cash and 2.5m gems to unlock the rebirth button, and hitting 4 rebirths allows you to unlock the gem boost that eliminates that long annoying grind for the second floor dropper. Once you have the boosts you can get to the third floor nugget in just a couple minutes and bypass literally 90% of the progression.

What I said applies to all Halo games desu, the grind in Halo just wasn't fun ever, even CoD in 2008 had more of a fun grind than Halo 3.

What keeps people engaged in these games is constant streams of content, Fortnite does it with every season adding full new content, every chapter adds a new map, they even add new modes, and constantly update their creative tools, there's multiple passes, etc.

Halo has never had this, even in Infinite where they attempted it, they attempted it poorly, Fortnite only still exists, and always manages to come back even when another game gets popular, because of this constant engagement and new content.

Ranked is a popular thing in concept, of course they also have to know that Zero Build players across all modes especially with Blitz make up the majority of players, their ranked modes should appeal to them more as a result aswell, there's tons of things they can do to farm more engagement.

For example, Overwatch 1 (unsure about 2) had the golden gun mechanic where you'd get points depending on what your final rank was, and you'd be able to make one of your characters gun gold, cosmetic incentives always help, they could go the really evil route like CoD does by having a unique skin exclusive to the top 250 players in the world and never release it to the shop (although I really would hate that because I would grind for that and prob stop playing if I couldn't get it)

The point is, competition isn't just about being the best for most people, it's about the rewards, if there's no rewards, there's no point.

Blitz is a cheap and easy mode to maintain just using recycled slop from BR, so keeping it around is easy. Reload is the same but the map requires a bit more effort on the map. I do think reload needs 100 real players though to fully catch onto the chaos of Warzone resurgence though.

long answer: there aren't a lot of other games that have such an array of characters to choose from with gameplay as varied as fortnite
sure i dislike the br aspect but if i can clear my mind and focus purely on playing the game instead of trying to win the game, i tend to enjoy myself a lot more and actually have fun again even when i end up losing
