What mods do you guys use for economy/trade? I have trade and Barter set to Hard, Septims =0.01 lbs, the ability to buy contract notes, etc.

It's a bit cheesy but I make the same excuse when playing on Irvatha's save because Talmasu is the alchemist of the family. Same with Feranthis and enchanting. None of the three are smiths though so that means I have to rely on Honed Metal because I only go where one has gone before, despite autistically adding tempering recipes to each (armour) item in my wardrobe.

One thing I struggle with when starting a new character is getting the adventure hook right. Even with alternate start mods that start me off at the border as a merchant, I can't think of a "natural" way to get to Helgen, get involved with the civil war, or even join the Dawnguard.

I think the last save I did I took Uthgerd the unbroken as a companion/lover and just slowly amped up vampire aggro via Faction Warfare until they inevitably killed her in an ambush, after which I joined the Dawnguard.

Another run I did a DR. Strange build where my hands were "broken" so I could only do spells and I had to survive long enough to make it to the mage's college to learn my first spell.

This merchant run is a bit harder to figure out.

Got rid of Immersive Horses finally. I couldn't figure out why it was t working and then realized that the mod had been broken/abandoned for like 3 years.

I'm glad I've gotten better at using SSedit since I can make my own bootleg patches if I need to or just identify problems faster. I just write it down and then after my session or during look up the issue.

I started running this with diablo loot enabled, so you don't get the entire inventory every time you kill someone. I was running Scarcity but it got kind of boring getting absolutely shit from a boss chest, now I get less drops from NPCs but the chests are more rewarding. Synthesis patched out all modded crafting recipes, so finding all set pieces takes time now.
With Service your gear and Honed metal I have to keep up with repairs and tempering which is a decent gold sink

How the hell do you balance followers?

the follower constantly drops down to their knees and it makes all fights cheesable. Goofy and breaks immersion, and obviously pretty easy
