MLA is the original overhyped JOPge. Also you have to keep in mind that Extra/Unlimited filter people who would detract from its rating.

On a story level the presentation, general concept (autistic military mech warfare vs. aliens is something that still doesn't have a lot of material), some genuinely exceptional story moments and a good amount of sunk cost does a lot of heavy lifting for the shoddy and repetitive character writing, especially in the second half. It's easily the most disappointing VN I've read relative to how excited I was to read it, but I still wouldn't say it was a total waste of time

From absurd choice sequences to ridiculous alternate history/sword lessons and a dumbass sudoku, its very clear the game has absolutely no respect for the players time and seems to go out of its way to ruin any kind of momentum the story has going for it. DON'T LOOK AT A WALKTHROUGH THOUGH YOU'LL SPOIL YOURSELF!!! /s Honestly the whole thing is just an overblown chuuni story aimed at idealistic impressionable teenagers, because the philosophical ideas it puts forth are downright ridiculous and lack any sense of nuance to really say anything meaningful. Killing bad? More like babies first individuality seminar while living in a society. The true route should've just been a fucking JRPG. I did really love the OST and art though, and I probably would've enjoyed it more if it kept it up with the dry humour it did so well at times. Frankly, if it wasn't for that epilogue, I was prepared to give this a 5/10.

He hasn't written anything good in decades, and the things he has written have completely soured anime studios on VN adaptations. He single-handedly killed high budget anime adaptations of visual novels by providing garbage scripts for highly anticipated anime productions, and he paved the way for all the major VN companies to go all-ages just to cover for Hinoue's inability to draw h-scenes. He caused untold damage to the entire industry for his personal gain, and he made billions of dollars in the process.

He could've gone down as one of the greatest writers of his era, but instead he decided to stab his original fanbase in the back and dedicate his life to gacha instead. But with Moetrash, you don't get any of that historical tradition. You have a group of cute girls doing nothing for as many hours as possible. They do normal life activities like school or hanging out but contextualized with terrible satirical writing from a 40 year old otaku writer who never had a social life and thus can only guess how a young Japanese girl would act. You as a reader are only observing boring and ordinary people and come away with no sense of awe or wonder. Really, you just consume a fictional character's life like a mindless normalfaggot browsing their favourite celebrity on IG. And while every reader has vicariously lived through the characters they enjoy, what does the moeshitter worship? A hero? A villain? A tragic character? No one. Just a retarded 14 year old gyaru girl written as a terrible overused trope.
