The balancing is bad because specific specs (classes, even) are always A tier, then some of the other ones hit the season jackpot and become FOTM, then the rest are all garbage.
If you want to pvp consistently each season your choices are basically mage, priest, rogue, warrior, maybe DH.
Otherwise you have to reroll to chase FOTM.

I won't even start with the fact that a whole role is essentially blocked from participating in PvP.

Basically I'm doing anything and everything passively if its not pvp related. So the Gladiator's Sanctum is the only thing I'm not progressing.
What's really numbing my brain is trying to get the pet battle monument. I completely mistook the achievement of just battling on Draenor 150 times to get the lvl 3 Menagerie for the one that gives the Monument, which wants 2000 battles... And for some reason I'm still going for it. Which is especially stupid after I realised the monuments aren't even account bound.
But oh well! One characters Garrison is gonna be littered with pet monuments!

It is not. Do you even play pvp? Healers are massively op for the past 4 or so expansions. They did this so that they didn't die too fast from pressure. You need 3 maybe 4 dps to kill a healer without dampening.
To counter it, they added a debuff that slowly lowers healing as the match progresses.

is there a damage type that ignores shields?

im playing on my prot paladin, running lightsmith with the shield armaments and having the avengers shield grants bonus shields talent, and despite having fairly large 30-40% max hp worth of shields sometimes, my health is still going down instead of being taken from the shields. i would have thought damage is always taken from absorb shields first

or do absorb shields just naturally only mitigate a portion of incoming damage?

The key difference is that classic and retail WoW just have much more in common than OSRS and RS3. What mythics should I be running if I am healing as druid at 689?
