The next 2 hunts were done by the same 4 hunters. Jaerruhd, Ava Jyna Licher, Vull and I.
First I joined Jaerruhd's Seregios quest where upon reaching the nest I immediately carted because I was literally the only one there and Seregios just bombarded me to death. Jaerruhd says he didn't know hunters joined him but I doubt it given his infamy (he was probably doing something in the tent :/ ). I changed weapons multiple times because I didn't know how to go about tackling this chicken but Vull and the other's efforts made sure Seregios was limping. But lo and behold just my luck Seregios gave me the 4th and last cart.... I'm just happy Ava didn't make a comment about me eating all the carts. Literally all of them.

Next up Vull called for a Gore Magala quest. Oh Gore.... nothing in the forbidden lands give me fear as much as this overgrown fungi. Every time I join one I pray to the lord above that I don't cart as much. Probably the only hunt I wish Arcmen or Astrid were here because those two will keep me alive with their chugging. I watched the valiant efforts of my companions while I find ways to prolong my survival long enough for them to kill Gore. Watching Vull I can't help but be reminded of a friend I dearly loved back in the new world.... but it's probably just my imagination.
Oh we failed that hunt. But at least the carts were distributed equally among us.

I was of course quick to point out that I didn't eat the last cart xD.

My fourth hunt of the day I partnered with Ava, Jaerruhd and Sib Zamini against a Lagiacrus. For this mon i'm not too scared. This crocodile pretending to be a dragon is too ez as long as I don't jump in the water because if I do I know the quest would be over. I watched their valiant effort and I'm actually prettt proud of myself because I feel like I contributed to the hunt ^_^ Sib Zamini's KOs were something to aspire to. I really like Sib. He helps me a lot in quests and he doesn't yap. He's just there. Like a reliable handy man you can call any time.

Now I sit here in the hub watching Ava dance like a bimbo while Vull tells her to stop. It's amazing how many memories you can make by simply hunting and enjoying the company of others. ^_^

For the fifth hunt I answered a call by none other than a legend from the new world, Kany. I wonder how is his faithful companion Aessina. Perhaps she stayed in the new world to assist the expedition. Hope she can travel the seas and join us in the future. We were accompanied by Ava and Benzmiller the later whom I've not met before but based on the straight serious expression he wore he means real business and he is sporting a Switch Axe. A very technical weapon that only few dare to hold.

Our target or rather targets were a Seregios and a Rey Dau. We hunted the Seregios first and me and my companion made quick work of it, the target Rey Dau even helped us and it's actually the first time I ever bothered to watch and marvel at the turf war of a Rey Dau and Seregios. Truly a sight to behold and something I would have missed if I have kept to my jaded and non hunt loving ways.

We tracked the Seregios to the dunes and I heard Ava shout behind me that the Seregios is a pussy for running away against the Rey. We kept hunting until night fell and my surroundings became too dark, only illuminated by the light of the moon and our fireflies but the environmental cues of the hunt were the clash of our steel against the scales of Steve.

Watching Kany with his masterful craft of the Great Sword is amazing he reminds me of another great swordsman Hunter King Doj (I wonder how he is nowadays), I even saw him cut the Seregios' tail with a well timed upswing of his blade that made the Seregios tumble and glare at us with pure hate but glaring does very little and before dawn he was slayed.

Thus we traveled to our next target. There isn't much time because our contract says we need to slay both before the break of first light but we engaged and it was an easier affair even when fighting in the dark bcause the Rey with its master of lightning illuminates the field and gives us ample vision to time our strike. Soon the beast was slain just as the light of sun caressed our faces.

For the last hunt a contract came up for a Gore Magala (ugh) in the wounded hollow. With trembling limbs I answered and soon I was on a wingdrake alongside Epsiliux from the new world, Vull and Astrid (ugh). Hopefully the latter keeps me alive and surprise surprise upon dropping I heard the buzzing of a vuvuzela coming from her. But at least she had enough sense to sport the qtest Horn around. I'll let it pass and who knows she might keep me alive long enough........OH HOW WRONG I WAS. A MINUTE NO ACTUALLY LESS THAN A MINUTE INTO THE HUNT ATHE HORNLESS GORE MAGALA CARTS ME. HORNLESS. LESS THAN A MINUTE. My face was red as a beet at this point good thing someone paid for the Palico's services and I didn't have to pay out of pocket. So back to the hunt I go. Watching Vull I really can't get the nagging feeling that I know this hunter from somewhere. Maybe Kamura? No. The New World? Most likely I am just drawn to this hunter like friend from a bygone age meeting in a new era. I kept shelling the Gore Magala and hoping the Epsiliux and Vull's blade cut and tear through the Gore fast enough before my arms give in from carrying this hulking shield and boomstick. Because I know full well the dooter won't be the one to end it. Astrid carted (surprise surprise) and I was quick to gaslight her saying "It's totally fine don't worry about it, fren!" But deep inside I'm just glad I'm not the sole carter in this contract. Theeeen I carted once more -_- and at this point I CANNOT mess this up. I went to my toolbox and against Masterlinkx's teachings I went and grabbed two traps that I immediately laid down the moment my feet touched Wounded Hollow's grounds. Was it effective? OH YOU BET YOUR GRAMEOWSTER IT IS BECAUSE WE SLAYED THE GORE MAGALA!

It was a good couple of days of hunting but alas I'll have to accompany the guild to some research thing for the next couple of weeks. Who knows maybe Elders might appear in the near future.

I started with Rise as my first, then finished wilds and now I started world, and something just occurred to me.
Wilds is literally just world copy pasted with shitty graphics, worse weapons and worse monsters.
Why aren't people pointing this out? It's literally the same, just worse. Ton more browns too.
I get that it's the "mainline" while rise was portable. That's not what I'm talking about. The games straight up feel the same, one is just a downgrade.
Wilds shows that they've given up on the monster hunter as it was before world and how it was in rise. It has been westernized to no end, including handholding, and diversity quotas.

I didn't play World for the longest time because I thought the color grading in that game had the contrast cranked up too high. Four generals actually, and it works because WoW's death was slow and the playerbase had years to resist its decay via private servers.
MH's death was instant with World's gargantuan difficulty downgrade and opening the floodgates to mentally ill and casual PS4 players. The small handheld-based MH playerbase at the time had no way of resisting the sudden shift. You either play it, drop the IP completely or try to resist and be called autistic/elitist by the masses and have no friends.
So yeah, there's no saving /mhg/ because MH itself is dead. From the game itself all the way down to its players. Nobody's got standards anymore. It's either CB or Bow for worst in my opinion. CB does damage but you're putting in twice the effort while everyone can shit out their big dick attacks on the fly and even just doing the ED loop leaves you open to getting smacked silly since it's completely unsafe without any instant broken defensive reactions besides rolling. Bow is absolutely brainless to play if you know what you're doing but the numbers are so bad that you're better off playing a melee weapon where you won't get killed in one hit or better yet, any other ranged weapon which is even more brainless and safe while being even stronger damage-wise. Not to mention the constant need to refill close range coating just to retain your damage or else it falls off hard.
