Normally in games you just do placements again when the seasons over. The biggest difference is a season in other games is like a year and not 8 weeks like rivals. Rank decay is pretty rare in competitive games these days, and you normally only see it at really really high elo. I think people in plat/gold getting rank psuedo rank decay because of resets is funny as fuck being commpletely honest. I'm all for non stop updates in this game but the actual ranked seasons should be longer, just have a new gold rank skin every 4 weeks that's fomo for that period if they want engagement. also make it not look like complete shit like blades

Low rank players are bad, like really bad. If you have good game sense and experience in this genre you should be able to carry your way out with the right characters, even with horrible comps. Yes you'll still lose some because of some insanely questionable decision making and griefers and even smurfs on the other team, but you'll still climb.
If you're trulyin shit elo I would really look into learning psylocke, hela, namor or an off tank that can play health packs pretty well while killing healers, honestly all things considered thor is a good option here. Keep in mind your team has terrible players but so should the enemy team, don't treat them with respect assume their backline has genuinely zero proper reaction/game sense to being harassed and won't peel properly.

MR is .13 on Steamcharts, which is sorted by current players not peak players. It's .19 on SteamDB for peak players, which just udpated again at the turn of the hour and has always had more accurate peaks for all its games
You can LITERALLY see in your own image that the 24hr peak for MR isn't accurate according to Steamcharts own Steam API data for Marvel Rivals... SteamDB and Steamcharts both have the same data for Marvel Rivals, but is listing the peak players on that page incorrectly at 149,000. I'm telling you as a game designer that has designed heroes, classes and such for multipel games it doesn't take that long. You plan these things way in advance so you can ensure that artists, programmers, sound designers, riggers, animators, material artists, character artists and so on are all available and don't overlap. You plan this way in advance so seasons, cosmetic planning, outsourcing, potential narrative, marketing, signed on voiceactors and so on is aligned and ready. This is especially true with a tight schedule so everyone can hit the ground running with minimal downtime for any department.
In terms of actually making a hero it varies depending on how many developers are available. But the modelling, making the shaders, vfx, rigging, animations usually takes about 1-3 months. Design usually takes about 1-3 months depending on how much time they're given to research, pitch, prototype, playtest, itertate and so o on. Sometimes about 2 weeks to a month of additional polish time is added at the end.
So even if we're being very generous with their devs being given a very long time, we'd be looking at 8 months tops. A more realistic number is 3-4 months, especially considering their rapid pace of hero releases.
Unless their artists are for some reasong sitting half a year to make a hero like Angela, which would be absurd, no it won't take a year.

The goal of that statement was to tell players that they can't make changes quickly to hero releases. Exaggerating numbers or conflating dev time with planning time is to their benefit. Because of he said 5 or 6 months, which is a far more realistic number given their release schedule and that chinese devs are given far less time than european and american ones to work on stuff, players would be far more likely stir up shit and start saying stuff like 'you said this 6 months ago, so why don't we get a strategist and vanguard season now???'.

I’m gonna miss default cap once I get the golden age cap outfit. I know a lot of people shit on it but I don’t think it’s bad apart from the high tech circles and wonky shield. The armour on it is cool and the mask especially looks sick because the wings sit on top of his covered ears. You’re probably gonna say ‘but anon. The cape and lack of a beard on the classic skin was just too good looking.
