Ultimatum is fine as the pocket DF40 tool for gigaholes - there just should be more of those kinds of things, i.e a tank fabricator for bots or whatever.
The fortress detector towers can be DF40 for all I care, since they give you no hellbomb and are expected to bring other stuff to deal with it, but the proper side-objective ones should require you to at least put in some effort.
If ultimatum took a support weapon slot, sure, but no secondary should be that powerful

The Patriot uses ~14% of its Anti-Tank damage per heavy encountered(assuming perfect aim) whereas the Emancipator uses ~5%. Obviously what we take from this is that the Patriot is for chaff and the Emancipator is for heavies, this much is obvious. However the reason nobody takes the Patriot is that chaff is such a non-threat that its niche(mulching hordes) is completely unnecessary and unfortunately gamers will always optimize the fun away and so will not use the Patriot once they know that the Emancipator is better in every circumstance.

Kill light chaff with primary/support, stagger lock medium chaff with machete. Shield pack is basically mandatory because enemies will attack you through stagger some times. Get good at baiting swings and then counter attacking.

Machete rapes warriors, hiveguards and alphas, if you're alone with a stalker you win if you dive and swing at it. Spewers is a bit of a tossup, but doable. They're mostly just nade bait.

Hardest part is just not eating friendly fire.

I just want the game to be about aim and reflexes again. The months long braindead spamming particularly on squids really soured up my opinion on HD2's future. It's because of this that I enjoy MGs, sentries, and orbitals getting displaced a bit by additions like warstriders, rupture bugs, and caves. I was playing with some friends who recently started playing because of the Halo stuff.
So i figured i help with samples by finally using the sample extractor booster to get some samples on killing heavies.
But i think it causes less heavies to spawn the more samples you have, when we had around 40 samples the only heavies i would see were the ones guarding bases and POIs.

The armor reduces the radius at which you're passively detected pretty well, and lets you sneak up on enemies around corners/ behind walls. The moment you do anything more than walk or crouch walk near enemies they will instantly aggro and start homing in on you though. I mainly use it for larger point of interest detection and immunity to leg damage. Especially because you have to keep running against bugs. Because thats apparently le fun and engaging gaymplay.

I have tested and attempted to produce evidence for this many times and the result always was disappointing, minuscule, barely alterting the stats even. Ergo just doesn't get in the way of your targeting all that often, especially if you make extensive use of FPV (which you always should).
