A friend borrowed me his MQ3 when he went for 2 months from country, so I am not new to VR, at least no very new. Kinda already have my VR feet- I've played BnS, Alyx, bit of Skyrim/Fallout4, Beat Saber and few other random games I could get.
He had ext. battery, some strap, gasket and few random accessories so I know some are a must even on Quest 3 and I planned on buying some which are available in my country for a good price. Maybe that AMVR one.

At most I've seen a crazy idea of some radar based FBT which will cook your balls.

It's gonna be yet another pancake LCD 2000x2000 XR2 Gen 2++++++ HMD with no DP in, but with a gimmick of having proton on it and being able to run flat games at 720p virtual screens.

Maybe some sorts of weird OpenXR extention for split rendering which will be used in ONE Valve demo, and nobody else will support it and it will make it look like you're playing PS1 game with prerendered backgrounds (streamed) with 3D models overlaid on top (hands/interactibles rendered on desktop).

It's gonna have unique snowflake Valve Linux OS instead of android, and nobody will bother making native games for it, as it will run Android builds with some emulator with compatability and performance issues.

This usually happens when you have made multiple playspaces in the same area since it assumes the playspace you are in is a different one.

A good full reset of playspace cache usually helps a lot with this

Basically the QPro controllers are absolute shit but if you keep the lenses clean and the room relatively well lit they do a little better.

I use a mini lenspen but a microfiber should work too. Any finger oil on the cameras will blur and it can happen very easily by accident.

By armature merge for head, I meant it purely on Unity side. There are two big systems, Modular Avatar and VRCFury, and both of those will allow you to merge two avatars with an option of merging per bone. So, if you want to do a headswap, the easiest way I see is adding "main avatar", then merging new head onto other armature by using armature merge in Unity (just the way you'd put a booth outfit on, if you did that already), and then adding correct animator/animations. It's hard for me to give you exact line-by-line instructions, but if you can add an outfit in unity, you should be able to use same scripts to add a head onto a body.

They should have a separate material, and unless something went wrong, this material should still be applied. Once you'll export your mesh and put it in unity, you should see two slots for materials, one for body, one for feet. Try exporting it, see if that's the case, the easiest way to verify is to grab any material and drag-drop it onto feet, this material should end up getting applied only and exclusively to this part of the mesh while rest would remain unchanged.

Ideally, you'd want this body to be one single material, unless you're transplanting robofeet and you actively want different shading, but for now, you probably want to see the bare minimum that works and then possibly improve upon it later.

9/11 was two months ago dude

I decided to redownload and give No Man's Sky another chance. I don't remember the controls being this goddamn shit. It's impossible to aim the scanner at anything, since the game seems to just pick the target in focus at random, regardless of where you're looking and where the crosshair is pointing, and the game seems to have the grip permanently on, I can barely walk past the ship without the game auto-gripping the interaction, sometimes accidentally forcing me back into the ship I just exited. It also keeps fucking crashing, which it never used to do.

you can set the background to just black, and then chromakey it to passthru with VD but then every shadow and dark spot on the map becomes slightly transparent and green.

I've tried a bunch of VR stocks and the only one that was remotely versatile enough was just a short rod sticking out of the main hand controller that I could rest my off-hand on to stabilize aim. Anything with cups or attachment points just isn't seamless enough for reloads and using grenades. Using clamps or slots would probably be the same.

This world was a decently sized museum of 3d scans, with the interesting innovation in which you are not allowed to go into the scan. Really a shame.

it took me like 6 tries, and I found out you can just shut off VD and leave steamVR working while you switch to the meta version of the game....
was frustrating but it worked and I have my save ported now.
