I fucked up remembering whether dextral or sinistral was prefix/suffix and ruined a craft I spent three divs on yesterday. With how expensive omens are I'm pretty sure I'd just be better off selling everything and buying the gear I need directly instead of trying to craft it, since both regular schmoes trying to craft an 80-90th percentile "pretty good" weapon are competing with mirror-tier hideout camping mirror-tier crafters throwing hundreds of divines at shit.

The one that's definitely worth using even as a casual is the homogenizing regal omen, that one's dirt cheap and lets you make some awesome gear for super cheap if you find a good magic base but I'm convinced homogenizing exalts is barely a return on investment, maybe for fubgoon meta bows it's worth but I was making scepters the other day and the only expected cost of homogenizing slamming to get +4 skills on a 78+ item with Regen+increased life was enough to just buy a finished scepter outright

I've been using a Cloak of Flame that's been corrupted to have 48% Physical Taken As Fire which has been working great, but I just found a Lightning Coil while mapping that has 40% on its Physical Taken As Lightning Roll. While wearing the Lightning Coil, my defenses go from 47% Armour and 61% Evasion to 55% and 64% respectively when compared to the Cloak of Flame. Does that jump in defenses + the extra Sorcery Ward strength from the Armour and Evasion justify using it over the Cloak of Flame's 48% corrupted roll?

I'm a poorfag and it's fine. I make 1-2 divs a day. It's a humble existence, a makeshift build cobbled together, one upgrade at a time. Suboptimal affixes and compromises, you make it work somehow. An exercise in zen and renunciation. I save for days and splurge on a half-decent amulet. I sit by the river and listen to the birds chirping. Someone just bought my old staff for pocket change. The sun will rise again tomorrow.

Half the people on this general use the meta builds and watch twitch streamers.
The other half take ideas from youtubers and redditors for your "homebrew" build.

the easiest way is to just overcap it like crazy, just spend a few points on a phys wheel and get the mastery on top of yugul + flask
btw the best way to get reflect reduction from flask is a bismuth flask (lasts the longest) with reduced charges used or increased duration prefix and reuse at end. shit lasts forever

The phys prefix is a local modifier, meaning it affects the base damage of your weapon, which in turn is further multiplied by stuff like gems, passives, buffs, etc. (you can tell a mod is local if it's actively changing the base stats at the top of the item.)
Whereas the ele damage mod is just a global mod that shares the same stack as any other %inc damage mods on the tree and elsewhere.
That mod CAN be competitive for actual hybrid phys mods assuming the value is over like 100%, but only if your weapon is already really good without it.

I don't know how far tooltips go at calculating damage, but it's nice to keep an eye on it while swapping gear.
For instance if you're swapping bows, rings, gloves, stuff that has flat damage mods, and your tooltip goes from 10k to 15k, it's pretty safe to assume you're getting ~50% more damage.
This does not account for bows with +proj. So if you switch from a lower dps bow with +2 arrows, to a higher dps bow without those additional arrows, don't trust the tooltip going up means you get more damage. Learning to use PoB is helpful for stuff like this, but I understand new players don't like it.
