So I just did a PhD level mathematical analysis of farming Plague Star. The result? Well, as it turns out, farming Plague Star might not be such a good thing in 2025!

If you are super efficient, the average run is 10 minutes. And we know that 1 run = 1 forma. That's 6 runs an hour, or 6 forma per hour. If you did this 8 hours a day (choosing this many hours because it's how long you would be working a regular job in a day) that's 48 forma.

Now, if you were to get the equivalent amount of forma in the 3-packs that are sold for 35 platinum each, you would need to buy 16 of them, which is 560 platinum.

Even if you didn't have a login platinum purchase discount and you bought it at full price, the most expensive platinum purchase (4,300 platinum) is $140 USD, and with this amount if platinum you could purchase 122.8 forma bundles.

If you were earning $18 per hour, then in just one day of work, you could get (remember, this is before any discounts from login bonuses) 368.4 forma. That's a hell of a lot more than the 48 forma you would get by grinding Plague Star for the same amount of time. In fact, that's about 7.6x more forma for the same amount of time.

So basically its official: you'd be a fool to grind Plague Star. The most efficient method, proven by MATHEMATICS, FACTS and LOGIC, is to get a job.

I just love how much attention to detail the devs played when they wrote Flare. Not just the fact that there *is* a non-binary character (and that there is no option to misgender them or be rude about it) but also the translation. My native tongue is german and the implementation of non-binary pronouns is kinda difficult. They use a *neopronoun* (dey) and hardly make any mistakes. As a non-binary person myself I just feel so seen and well respected. Especially with the daily struggles for respect and the world getting more hostile every day. The Burston has very high crit chance and the hemocyte's damage attenuation doesn't factor crit very well into its calculation, as it mostly affects base damage (sometimes, it seems to vary per enemy, refer to wiki).
There's still attenuation on how much damage you can do per shot but the Burston shoots so fast in incarnon mode and crits so hard it does good damage.
Still not as good as Titania but whatever, better than nothing.

All you can do is pay attention to the 5 second countdown and right when it's about to hit 0, either get yourself to cover/void mode, or start launching/rolling yourself somewhere (so when the game resumes, you'll still be moving during that 2 second period when you have no control). You have to act in advance.
Or just play a build that can tank those 2 seconds with damage resistance, overguard etc. It's very, very bad design but not hard to work around.

The only annoying part of the mission with randoms is the canister. I've seen multiple people that don't know that you can use archwing while holding it, and many more people that think the mission is bugged because they don't know that the person with the canister has to interact with the objectives. My solo times are not great 12 minutes with a Volt, mostly because I have to constantly clear the trash around the thing or I get swarmed, but I might just stick with it anyways than deal with this shit. Jade event was much better because the dead weight just had to sit on the elevator and they couldn't actually impede progress.
