Axion doesn't have much to do aside from WC and the fang icon missions (forget what the proper name is) for parts and the pity drops. Not many people seem to bother with the colossi that spawn anymore and occasionally I see people doing the missions where the meteor thing falls from the sky but it's mostly WC and the specific missions that have the bulk of attention. Even Nell got somewhat sidelined by Ult Luna and sure, it's probably because she's the new hotness but I've seen a dramatic decrease in Nell usage in Albion and in pubs. In a few weeks we'll have swords to try out and I'm sure they'll have their own upgrades and core system along with the new Void Vessel stuff but this flow of content is pretty much the standard way of things for the foreseeable future.

I don't even know how the fuck the new player experience works at this point, but if you didn't get the boost thing from the anniversary event, just play through the main campaign for now and don't worry about leveling or saving shit. Just always use the highest level weapon and components you have and dismantle the rest (except legendary weapons, but you have to go out of your way to trash those anyway). The actual game begins once you unlock hard mode. Think of the campaign as an extended tutorial. It used to actually be pretty good at showing you all the games systems (Basic shit like crafting and important NPCs in Albion, Colossus fights, Infiltrations, how to unlock Descendants and Legendary Weapons, etc.) but I don't know how much they changed.

No man, I was expecting something great after all the hype, but somehow season 3’s story - both the map and missions - feels even worse than episode 2. This game isn’t improving at all, and having WC spawn only once per hour is just tedious. I completely skipped the new abyss boss because I don’t care about that mode anymore. One thing that did surprise me though is the sheer amount of skins, they added more in the last 6 months than they did in the first 9. If only they put that same effort into making meaningful content, and maybe something different than what we already got back in summer 2024. And now that rank 30 isn’t even the cap anymore, I’ve got zero motivation to grind for it especially since that one common material grind was one of the reasons I rage quit in the first place. The guy in charge of balancing Bunny for release was a Bunny fan. He was also maybe not the best at the game, so he maybe overbuffed her. Then she released in a one piece thong leotard and was overpowered for the level 100 content and the rest was history - if they nerfed her, they would have lost half the playerbase. Go hit up a 250% dungeon with Bunny now, and then remember that *that* was the pinnacle of difficulty at launch (other than tard roulette for lava turtle).

And so, they simply had to buff other characters to compete with her - which didn't work until Freyna. But they said, nope, Freyna needs to be as good at nuking, just in different circumstances to Bunny. And they succeeded. They then made those other circumstances - kill 300 guys in a confined space - 90% of the content.

Oh no, Freyna's too powerful. How do we sell Ines? OH SHIT, not only is she Freyna but with more damage and faster, but she can kill anything through walls even the most powerful colossi in the game. Now the only meaningful content they can release is the skin you give Ines and how pretty the wall she stands behind is, because what's the point of putting effort into enemies if they don't get to do anything and you don't even see them.

And so, they gave Ines the first nerf ever. Problem was, this being the first ever nerf, people's expectations were betrayed (despite the devs saying numerous times they might nerf something), and so the devs got giga review bombed for downgrading the first most generally powerful character all the way down to... still being the first most powerful character.

And so, they'll never nerf things again.

So that's how they overcorrected on abilities. Then they brought in weapon cores, which were kind of ok, then they buffed last dagger which already had a good core spread, and all the while the forgot that Gley had infinite ammo. Oops, Hailey went from being one of the best characters in the game to unironically the worst, since she was balanced to only be good at colossi but bad at general gameplay but she can't use cores. And that was before they gave her un to every other descendant.

Anyway, I could go on, but Serena is recent enough history that everyone probably knows about it.

TL;DR, this is the dev's first game and they don't talk to each other enough probably because Korean, and they overcorrect without talking to each other and it wasn't until after Serena released and dropped and made the leaderboards < 2 seconds that they even bothered speaking to the guy in charge of the final numbers before release. And while they do play their game they probably don't play their game enough, frankly.

Also, my 2 cents, Bunny would have balanced out anyway after they brought missions with 100 guys at a time with a million health each across an area bigger than one lightning emission, and guns would have been balanced out as soon as every single game mode stopped taking away gun crits and weak point damage (back when Gangster and Tamer were unironically the best guns because they did damage regardless of crit or weak point immunity). But they couldn't do that without bringing out a new system for each style with 10 different rounds of buffs for each, so now we are where we are.

I meant like content wise. I'll just assume you can't consistently farm VEP 10 solo yet. When people say Serena is Hitler reincarnate and the best character in the game they don't look at it from a newer player perspective. You're gonna want a pretty good and fully cored gun for her to really pop off whereas someone like Ines only needs Secret Garden as a stat stick.
You can make Serena work with a subpar gun too mind you, but if your goal is to "properly" reach endgame (i.e. clearing everything without getting carried), it's probably easier/smoother to focus on Ines first.
