The Tassi Stratagem on how to fix D2:

Double all Portal loot. I don’t care how extreme that sounds. Do it. And make sure it’s weighted toward the new stuff. (Do not just put it in Reclaim because Reclaim is so bad people don’t want to play at all).

Don’t just fix power drops, increase them. Currently they’re mostly one less power than they should be. Don’t put it back to normal. Increase it to one more than it was going to be before if you must leave this new climb in place.

Make all positive modifiers in the Portal free so you actually want to use them, rather than be penalized for them.

Cut the +10/+20 enemy power gains from negative modifiers in half to +5/+10 so people aren’t showing up to try and farm 30 to 50+ under power.

Maybe don’t auto increase every Tier drop, but drastically increase the rate of Primes past whatever it is now for now just power gains, but actually good higher tier drops.

Double raid loot. Double whatever dungeon loot there’s going to be.
Take at least two of the five Eververse armor sets this season and make them earnable somewhere, especially the Taken one. Unhappy, actively quitting players do not buy Eververse armor.

I liked Arrivals and the original game content, but Light 3.0, crafting, enhancing, and all the annual expansions since 2020 have been better than the game was before that. I know in the 300s at every 20 or so levels you get those sharp jumps where you basically have to do a few runs at the +2 reward because the +3 just requires everything on master and its all bogged down and you're too low for GM and at deficit, so you weather the +2s til the delta normalizes or whatever, but this was just absolutely bullshit even to just budge the score bar into B+

So who else here actually uninstalled this week? The Renegades reveal made it clear to me that even if everything about the game mechanics got fixed, they are simply not going to continue to create the kind of stories and content I want, the entire direction is completely wrong now. Then you add on the disaster in every respect that is Ash and Iron and the writing could not be more clearly on the wall. I uninstalled the game and I do not intend to ever play it again.

so far i'm not really sure if i hate the aislop voices that much. at first it was really really bad, and the basic npc voice acting is awful, but the quests are surprisingly serviceable and the named character voices are a lot better. it's really nothing amazing but it goes a long way in a game like destiny that's always lacked that personal touch with the world built around the player. if it means they can keep churning out decent destiny story beats that show you a little bit more pieces of earth at a time then idk, i wouldn't really be opposed to it. i really don't know what it will look like in a year or two from now since this is my first gacha game but if they keep piling on the content then it might end up being pretty good.

The portal needs to be shitcanned or made into a way to just earn a couple of extra pinnacles with old pinnacle system in place. Like if you don’t want to play trials or do the featured raid, go do a couple old missions with modifiers in the portal, and you’ll be good. Or if you’re a no-life that always completes every possible pinnacle, that great, too. Just a couple extra rewards to reward your sweatiness. and anyways most of the content for a current release was either at the helm or the new destination, then when you were done you'd just grind vanguard/Gambit/crucible or raids/dungeons/exotic missions if you wanted.

People used to queue in for Blind Well or Dares of Eternity just to get some quick alien shootin' done, but now there's no point because those activities basically do nothing. Nah it just doesn't make sense how much they suck ass. Bungie spent all of D1 and half of D2 hyping the fuck out of ahamkara but rising feels like the real payoff. Riven was pretty good, I have no complaints about that but the whole thing was underwhelming since it simply lacked the dialogue and interactions with him, and he ended up being a raid boss that everyone cheeses by default. Idk man china has already shown us 3 and they all serve completely different purposes in the story. It would have been cool if all the ahamkara exotics in D1 and D2 had their own quests with fully fleshed out characters, dialogue and a backstory. Brec being a character that talks to you, the player, instead of just an item is something Bungie would have never done themselves despite the artifacts speaking to the users and forming parasitic relationships with them being an actual thing in the lore.

They barely got away with nuking half the game at the start of Beyond Light, the fact that they nuked everyone's light levels at the start of Edge of Fate doesn't even make sense. Player progress has to be reset every once in a while, longform live service games don't work otherwise. If you look at a more traditional mmo like WoW, they basically do a small reset with every raid patch and a big one with every expansion.
In the case of Destiny, the question is "how do you make people care about new guns without powercreeping them?" I get a new gun if it looks good, but that's not a good enough reason for most people.

I would say I predict Bungie to lean more into the “we’re a story game now” bullshit but judging off people who regurgitate lore books for a living they’re gonna be jumping out a window soon given how they’re getting a quarter or less viewership than they normally would get. I would genuinely be surprised if we get more than 1 or 2 years out of this game and one of those years genuinely being more Ash and Iron than actual expansion. I also will say it again Andy won, absolute slime ball social media manager guy but he had Dmg take the bait and 100% knew this year was gonna suck and didn’t want to have his face on panels.

I couldn't find a better sample but this Keep of Voices sample in Rising is just pure kino it gave me chills, the chinks truly do deserve to become the next world superpower. The boss fight itself was amazing too.

I had zero dog in the race and only started playing Destiny with 2’s launch because other friends played it and I didn’t play console or games in the era of late PS3/early 4 and it genuinely feels like how copecels describe star citizen for the sales pitches of what Destiny 2 could be like back then. Realistically, no one is talking about moving to another engine. They can use their own, they just cba to upgrade it and bring it to the modern day.
DE have their own engine they've been using for like 15+ years, now it's used in warframe and soulframe, they keep upgrading it to improve the fidelity and add new stuff. Soon there will be another massive visual revamp in warframe because they're backporting new stuff from soulframe.
WoW's engine is fucking ancient and started out as a fork of the war3 engine. Blizz still keep upgrading it with every expansion, they keep adding new stuff.
Fatsharks and arrowhead use their own forks of the stingray engine that was retired by autodesk ages ago. But they keep upgrading their own stuff. Like, did you know that the original magicka game and helldivers 2 run on the same engine?
But bungo doesn't do that, they do minor tweak, no major changes, if anything, the fidelity went down over time. But they keep feeding us the excuses.

The gunplay feel is overrated point at this time, it’s really just a shit pile of aim assist and even then the game’s dinosaur bones can have things to act correctly. Sure engine was made literally for a time when the mission was simple to have a FPS on console in a more primitive time, but like there’s far too much that’s long in the tooth. Idk I think what personally broke me and my dick riding of “the feel” was Challenge Day 1 War Priest where you had to have everybody participate on the buff swap but because it was contest and war priest he had one of if not the most health in the game at that point and your window for attack was all fucked because everybody was seeing different timer numbers due to tick so that was important seconds where you’d have damage counting as immune. It just made me go retard rage and I’ve wanted to shoot the engine into the sun.

Building Estela is pretty tricky, I tested several guns and they all charge her dragons differently. There is a p2w build with a battlepass weapon level 2 catalyst that can reload LMG, but I'd rather stay f2p

is there a mega autistic guide for Rising yet? All these currencies and I'm unsure what's the best thing to buy for each. For example I got Fortuna Crystals, I could get character upgrades or more LE Draws, but the character upgrades are all the permanent banner so presumably I'd get them all eventually. My prior gacha experience was Nier Reincarnation (which I loathed) and a toe dip into Genshin so I know how these things go to a degree.
