The patch better be fucking huge when it comes out. This is fucking ridiculous at this point. Been doing a Ranger run this time around. Is Hallowed armor really better than Frost armor? It has better stats across the board outside of +4% extra crit rate, and the DoT just feels more valuable than the free hit.

it's slightly more defensive with its buff which allows you to make more mistakes, but frost is probably better for dps, and I believe it has more defense anyway
I'd either keep your frost armor until you can make shroomite, or refer to the class setup guide near the bottom of the OP and use the mixed set suggested therein

Texture pack won't work. The sprites are too large, and they aren't animated. Also, why are two of them holding sticks of dynamite? Vortex enemies don't use dynamite.

Is collecting the biome keys supposed to be unfun? I've already killed Plantera and only managed to get the jungle one just because for some reason a trillion enemies constantly harassed me while building the Plantera arena. Doing the same in 4 other biomes feels horrendous to think about.

Biome key rewards are more or less useless by the time you get them now, unless you just want them for the sake of collecting them. As for them being unfun; yes. They have abysmal drop rates and were endgame for a long time before Moon Lord.

Where can I find people who would be interested in committing to a longer modded game?

I gotta ask, are any of the expert mode exclusive boss accesories endgame worthy? I look at them and all the time it just feels like stat boosts and movement gear is just better.

the eye of cthulu shield is fantastic for movement all the way until you can get master ninja gear in the post plantera dungeon

the worm scarf/brain of confusion are also top tier defensive accessories

the empress of light's accessory is too good to ignore, unless you're dedicated to using a flying mount like the witch's broom

everything else is indeed kind of meh in comparison though, only ever reaching niche use. that said, they are each useful in their own way within that niche. for example, i usually try and get king slime's gel before i go exploring the jungle, just because being able to completely ignore 1/3 of the enemies there is quite a boon

I understand why they don't do much with them but I really wish they could be integrated into other recipes and combined. Stuff like Charm of Myths+Shiny Stone, Royal Gel+Hand of Creation or Sweetheart Necklace+Brain of Confusion would be so much fun.

The only one really worth going out of your way for is the Vampire Knives from the Crimson chest, and only really if you're doing a tank build in a multiplayer world. The rest aren't worth seeking out. They're more like, if you get them, cool, but they're whatever otherwise.

I don't quite think you'll have too much fun. This is one of those wiki games where it would really help to have a wiki nearby since otherwise stuff is very vague.
If you don't like using wikis, the Guide is extremely helpful for telling you what recipes items are used for, and which crafting station they need. Be VERY mindful of him.

I personally think you should start in Expert mode right away. Normal mode is just way too easy and many of the game's mechanics are balanced around Expert mode nowadays, but if you're feeling cautious you can start off in Normal until you learn what you're doing

Got my ass destroyed by the Martian Madness soon afterwards. So now I have plenty of options here.

Which one would you recommend, or at least which one would be more fun?

I'm trying to make a pirate event grinder so that the only thing that spawns are the ships, but I can't quite seem to get the measurements right.
How high off the ground does my platform have to be for the pirates to still spawn on the ground level, but then despawn because they're within the despawning zone offscreen?

Had to build a pool downstairs a separate room because otherwise npcs were too far to affect each other
Now when I look at it I could add extra tile to the right side of the upper room and extra glass tile to make window smoother.
