Hot take, the issue with M+ group making isn't tanks or healers but moreso the standards of groups have inflated way beyond appropriate. People think meta (and i mean mage or dk) dps is worth more than even 3 ilvls on a Atier dps spec (like warrior ret etc), and not to mention utility like lust brez being insanely desireable even more than raidbuffs are. Creating an actual incentive structure where higher powerlevel players arent incredibly incentivized to farm lower level keys (why as a mythic raider would you ever want to do higher than what you can 2chest if your not going for title), so that we dont have an insane playerskill gaps.

Solutions I thought of probably involve pushing people OUT of M+ and into M0s, where M+ is mainly push oriented (HM taza is a good example of how to do this i think)

This is directly relating to making things unfun when playing optimally, its called the "burden of optimal play" (which i believe was ACTUALLY coined by blizz), and the other person for really stating this outright was a civ developer. The lesson was NOT about people making the game less fun for themselves intentionally, people would rather not handicap themselves if they have the knowledge to make things easier, and if you make the easier thing unfun thats on the developer not the player.

That being said mages and FDK are among the tankiest classes in the game and are incredibly strong aoe/ST/priority with good utility and really should have been nerfed immediately (at least arcane mage). The things developers should do is return drums to being 25% and make it less fucking expensive. The big thing im actually focusing on in my post however is that if your someone who could very realistically be doing 17s right now the system doesn't actually REWARD you for attempting the 17s beyond score (which unless you are doing title has no benefit), so then you actually just sit at 10-13 (whatever will get you 3k score for turbo boost in a few weeks). These people will displace people who actually belong in that bracket and raise the expectations of the average dps player (MUST BE 715+ilvl), I know because I do it as a tank/healer player, its simply too easy to just sit there and do the deed because you guaranteed know that someone who mythic raids will come do your key for their 8 vaults (this whole 8 keys a week shit is actually so fucking retarded and i hate how its a thing).

We have also had a season (s1 DF) where multiple good comps existed, so it can be done.

Depends, an extra 2 skill has higher per point value than 5 in a skill. It also supports diversification (also lw tailor can only get +2s from kt but those suck for gold this xpack). Tbqh belf(enchanting) draenei(JC) and goblin (alc) are also good options. I don't really rate BS and Inscription for gold making (inscription does pull a profit eventually it's slow to start up like alc but the product is hard to move unlike alc).

As we watched Classic go through Vanilla, TBC this process accelerated because well, doing Sunwell dailies on a contested server where you aren't the big dog... sucked. By the end of TBC almost all the PvP realms were mono-faction, not because people didn't want to PvP but they didn't want to be on the more often than not losing side, there were no "balanced" realms to go to so mono-faction PvP it is.

The idea was that 2h frost does more oblit damage and dual wield frost does more magic howling blast dmg. Sure there's some other parallels.

The big challenge dual wield vs 2h has is balancing weapon enchants and smf vs 2h fury has is weapon stat budgets (which they could just say that offer half stats when dual wielded...). I personally am so over weapons in general I would prefer to receive an amorphous blob item that just turns into whatever weapon I want it to be (need a bow as a hunter? It's a bow, need a spear? Now it's a spear), I feel so little joy when it comes to loot in 2025 id rather the friction leaves at this point

Like… how are you mad? We’re literally in a game where you can fish with a hat on, cook fantasy soups, and get excited over a new color of frog mount. The vibe is adorable. The music is peaceful. The Murlocs say “mrglglgl!” and do a little dance when you run by. And yet there are people typing like they're about to throw their keyboard across the room over a +10 key. Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand wanting to play well I like pushing, I like optimizing, I like doing big pulls and clean runs. But it blows my mind that people get so furious over mistakes or wipes or missed interrupts in a game that is, at its core, deeply whimsical. It's a cartoon MMO! Your character probably has cat ears and is wearing transmog from 12 different expansions.

Runes was a dumb move in the first place. Best bags were during Cata - I think it was Zul Gurub patch, when they were providing a lot of mounts and pets with very high chance.
