I had enough LMD to level her to E1 lvl 78, but the mats are a bit of a problem. The icebreaker event finally gave me some polymerized gel and I've been slowly scrounging up the electronic units for Mountain. Both of them need the same mats... so who is going to benefit more from the E2? I won't be able to level the other one for quite some time.

Personally speaking, so take this with some bias, I'd say Gladiia.
While she can't exactly do the same job as Mountain to the levels he does, she can STILL fill some job of holding early rushes and holding some annoying enemies back, even more if we add her module buff there.
There's also the fact that you have a built Specter, so having a Gladiia on the field is just straight up an extra survivability boost for Specter allowing her to deal with even more shit than she already deals with.
Plus the fact that you said you have no pullers, and it's always a good idea to have a puller on your deck, since you can cheese some shit with them. "Significantly" and "Greatly" pull/push forces are always good to have.
And finally, she's long term investment since she will still buff any other AH you get in the future.

Mountain is more of a solo player. You plop him down and forget about that spot until the enemies start to ramp up significantly. Plus, Mountain doesn't have any range at all, so he's limited in what he can do.
What's the difference between being able to pull an enemy moderately and significantly, btw?

He's very good but they make about the same DP on S1. The real draw of Elysium is the talent and S2, he boosts Snipers a lot even without Snipers, the Slow/DEF shred/reveal is a very strong combo in any map both to slow down the incoming starting enemies and lock down strong ones for other ops to kill.

Depends, they are both super strong and useful everywhere. But don't forget that Monst3r is a standard op - she can spook you at any time, you can get her with a rape ticket, she'll have rate-ups on standard banners, you can buy her in the shop later. Getting Exu2 later will be much more difficult and expensive because she is limited. Plus rolls on her banner are of great value because the list of operators available for spark is insanely good.

He doesn't. The early and midgame is beaglecore on off lanes. After 3-8 he gets 2 years of resources from 0 sanity game modes so he can quickly get 4 supporting ops up to speed to lock in the map. It's really not hard.
Most maps have a ling solo lying around somewhere too. There's a lot of alternatives for low rarity + carry. Don't discount how the beginner banner upgrade and all the free shit they get. With all the record restorations and vouchers they have a much easier time since instead of being short worthwhile ops to invest in they have numerous 6*'s and an E2 amiya from the start. Then they start getting drip-fed strong welfare ops like Tequila, Gladiia, and so on.

Keep refreshing a couple times each time you do a stage then add the player's case sensitive name and numbers to a notepad. Do it until you have like 5 or 6 of them, then add them. The friend system is aids so if you add one before you have a bunch written down it's really hard to get randoms to bulk it up so you're not bricked after you clear one stage with your one hole.

The friend system is stupid because it both prioritizes your friend but it also de-prioritizes friends the longer they haven't logged in.
So one you add a friend, it's more difficult to get randoms of that op
So once you did brick yourself, you need to go complete a heart of surging fire obsidian festival OF- map with that op as a support to deprioritize them for like 5-10 minutes
Then you have to spam refresh trying to get more holes but at the same time you can't add them immediately because then you're just looping to the start. You have to write them all down then batch friend request them later.
But once your refresh timer is fucked, if you're really looking to brute force it anyway you need to start an IS run and a caster voucher start because IS's support refreshes cap out much lower than regular stages. Then you just grind it out until you have a couple of them.
And you need to keep a bunch written down anyway cause most so-called "friends" will replace her with fotm every TWO WEEKS when a new op comes out.

Repeat for each rare op or op you don't want to raise or want to try out.

That one varies a bit with the barricades in the middle, but usually what I do is keep the ball where it is, and use it to destroy the barricades in its row (The balls deal a lot of damage to them, so that's the best way to destroy them, especially spiky balls which have more ATT. Barricades have like 50k hp), then just push. That strat is consistent, but a riskier and faster strat is to try and push it to an open lane and then yeet it with a pusher. Though you have the enemies coming at you, and also the balls travel in different ways, so trying to push them in just the right way to an open lane is hard. A 500IQ strat that I made is... push the ball to your own goalie and catch it, then you can redeploy it wherever you want (to an open lane), then you can yeet it. Though that's hard with randoms

hard layout. naïve approach is to aggro them and wait out the enemies to walk into our blue box, but that takes too long I think. You can also kill them, that's a bit faster but it's still slow overall. I've got two strats for it. First strat is an aggressive "down the middle" attack. You can use a single file attacker to push the ball there, and then just deploy some Degen/Blaze/whatever and force the ball through that middle barricade. Works sometimes, but my partner never blocks the enemies. Second strat is more fancy, use a puller/pusher/even Wild Mane to get the ball to one of the open sides, then yeet it in.

this one isn't that bad because the Swarmcallers don't really do anything unlike the grudgebearer laylout which just kills you or the invis laylout which is infuriating.
