You guys ever think about how good RuneScape might have been if wow hadn't fucked everything up? Every game wanted to ape it's popularity and RuneScape was the same when they added that dam hotbar. I am trying to do gauntlet speedrun combat tasks but my RNG is so fucking cooked
It takes me +20 attacks to kill a single demi-boss with an attuned weapon, MAX STATS BTW, I splash an entire fucking cycle of the hunllef's prayer multiple times, the hunllef hits me through prayer every single attack and always over 10 damage, top speedrunners jump into the fight with 2 egniol potions and nothing else and use redemption ~6 times. I go in with a full inventory of food and STILL die. Also the layouts are fucking terrible, I can go 10 rooms without finding a single grym leaf or the only food source is on the other side of the gauntlet, or there's no demi-bosses in the first 2 cardinal directions i check

Whoever designed the tasks, I genuinely think they can't do it themselves, but they bank on few people having good enough luck to complete them, there is no fucking consistency to speedruns, it's ALL about luck. What a fucking joke

You have skills that have to be trained, housing, quests, achievement diaries.

I consider osrs beaten when all skills are 99d, all quests done, all pets and non tradeables obtained, pimped out house.

GP is only a very superficial part of the game that only hinders your progress to do end game quests and content.

If you already worked a job its just much more efficient to buy bonds to sell, and then grind out your skills to relax or do quests.

i guess i'm only just starting out, but what do you need crazy amounts of gp for that can not be grinded in reasonable time? So far i've just been making anything i need for myself and been having a nice time, i find it really cool that you can be self sufficient in this game

You don't need a lot of GP, but GP does speed up a lot of the content in the game especially the early base levels.

I more so wanted to make a point about GP to USD value and the efficiency behind earning GP in game. Your skills will basically be at the same speeds and you will have to do all the quests and skilling exactly the same.

A lot of people will say its not the spirit of the game to sell bonds that you bought with real money, but the fact is it IS the most efficient money to time ratio in the game and it is what jagex wants you to do.

Many people don't realize that time is also a currency too, you have a limited amount.

If it bothers someone that someone got a twisted bow by paying $1000 for 40 hours vs grinding for 500-1000 hours to get it by a drop chance well they can do that but it will still be the same just with more time wasted. 40 vs 500+ hours, take your pick

I look at it this way I'm fine taking the time to skill after work, do quests, do bosses for pets, build my house all that and see the content of the game. Believe me when I got my first fire cape I have never took it off and I'm still working towards infernal and all the pets. I play as legit as jagex intended.

I don't think buying bonds detracts much aside from the rare rare chance you might get a twisted bow or elysian shield in 30 hours but its very unlikely.
