Also I personally liked the end game because it was close to impossible to completely beat. The later dungeon levels or whatever they were called I can't remember you had to be a God to beat them and even then sometimes you just couldn't. That feeling that there is something out there that you can't achieve but maybe if you tried hard enough you could is motivating.

the only way to do it without being incredibly shitty is by using +gem level tags that double-dip between what you're using to trigger and the triggered spell.
this patch you can get a +2 projectile quiver and 250% Widowhail as a Blood Mage, get 15% base crit for all spells, and then have +7 gem level to all projectile spells, for example. Or last patch you could dual wield Mjolnirs with +4 to Lightning and trigger thundergod's wrath with autoattacks to trigger Arc.

if you're using a projectile spell you can use a +2 quiver and a 250% widowhail to get +7 to spells instead of paying for a wand and +2 focus, 100% chance to pierce on quiver also works on spells now after they hit fix buffed it.

thats really not the case, you can make varying levels of shit tier weapons on a shoestring budget. make a 2x t1 / t2 prefix weapon with a bit of alt spam and recombination, prefixes cant be changed, veiled chaos, repeat a few times and you have a pretty fucking good item for like 10-15d and an hour of your time. you can also make solid triple ele weapons super easily by recombing t1 or t2 with an essence mod to get a 2 prefix weapon, then doing that again but with another element and the same essence to get another 2 prefix weapon and then recombing those to get 3x t2+ ele damage

You can get through it pretty quick on repeat runs, you can share gear between characters within the same league so only the first one per league is slow, if you're just starting a league you have a ton of new shit to play with and possibly changes to the campaign itself (0.3 added act 4 and removed cruel difficulty which was the most annoying part), and you already know all the boss and enemy patterns. You're still fighting the same enemies at endgame and you can occasionally get decent loot in the acts, though it's obviously much rarer and there's no form of optimized grinding.

The non-chase “leveling” uniques (which are too shit for leveling) should all be made to have Act 3-4 stats but wearable at level 1. They can double down on the funny drawbacks if they want.

In PoE1 you can go from starting a new character to killing kitava and being in maps in under 2 hours without needing to be some ultra sweaty world first racing setup or specific builds (you can do the same in Diablo 2 as well)
PoE2 campaign it's easy to spend more than two hours just in act 4 alone as you full clear every island and do the side quest shit to unlock all your passive points. Speed running act 1 in under an hour id considered a pretty good time even by people who play the game for a living. I never had fatigue leveling characters in PoE1 but in PoE2 I refuse to play more than a single character per league because the campaign is such a slog to get through multiple times

I have 7k ES and 15% of chaos damage dealt leaches to ES, I can easily do juiced maps but my DPS is hitting a ceiling due to relying on a low level unique gloves to convert life leech to Energy Shield leech. I tried Thunderfist and it absolutely works, but it means interrupting your mapping to let ES recharge whereas leech chonk can just keep going and going and going and going. The tradeoff is Thunderfist lets you do way more damage.

I love the changes to crafting and the addition of the market in 0.3. This isn't a complaint post at all. I'm genuinely stoked for everyone who's having fun crafting right now. Crafting just isn't my thing.

Mapping isn't terrible by any means. It's fun enough to do for a few days after you finish the campaign, but it gets stale fairly quickly. The Atlas is pretty uninteresting to me. It doesn't give me the same excitement as the passive tree when I get more points. I hope they can find some way to make it more interesting.

The variety of maps is much better now, but I definitely hope they add even more. Expedition is really the only somewhat unique mechanic in mapping. All the others are just killing big packs basically. I do hope they can add more to each of the mechanics to give them more identity and make them more fun.

Overall I think 0.3 has been a great success. I definitely had way more playtime in this league over the others so far. But now that crafting is in a good place and the market has been added, I hope that 0.4 sees some interesting changes to mapping.

I am playing Ice Strike and Hollow Palm, unless ES recharge starts almost instantly I am going to have to wait simply because I'm so close. In general mapping it wasn't a problem but with the super juiced Abyss spawns I had to play defensively as opposed to just yeeeting at it as Chayula.
For reference, my Leech with chonk reaches 15000 ES/sec with no recharge delay. If I was willing to invest in Imbuing that notable that causes Leech to not stop when your unreserved HP is full that would be its default rate, but it just seems unnecesary. Alternatively I could try and get Vaal pact but it kind of gimps your DPS to travel that far.

I dropped Ghost Dance because it wasn't really contributing anything, I run Blink, Combat Frenzy, and Herald of Ice (which procs off chaos damage thanks to Tul's Silence support).

Buy some cheapo +honor resist relics off the market, you can get ~60-70 resist for just a few ex. I've been farming so many trials that it's just become clockwork to me, I like getting +damage to monsters, +max honor, and +honor resist on my relics because it gives me a cushion and lets me go fast by oneshotting rares. When you're losing less honor you also don't have to go to honor shrines as often and can focus more on water/boons which makes everything easier.
