The grind becomes giga-aids around 400. You'd have to play at least GM-level shit, even in quickplay (retarded matchmade teammates and a -40 fixed delta), or slap a fuckton of modifiers. Green engram bonus drops cap at 400, so they effectively become useless. Random drops are always capped at -10 of your current level. Your source of power will be actual activity completion drops and ultra-rare prime engrams, event/weekly portal pass rewards, and Zavala's weekly weapon and 2 armors. If you are good at pvp, you can farm Crucible to your heart's content. Other than that, it's just pure Bungie's retardation all around. decided to finish up the reward path for Reclaim since BL4 kept crashing too much. got good frames but just couldn't handle it crashing every 10 minutes.

whatever they changed recently defenitely makes doing GM+ portal stuff more rewarding, i got 3+ items every Reclaim run, and went from 410 to 420 from yesterday to today.
regarding the activity itself, it's really weird, like i get it's supposed to be like nether and stuff but it felt a bit barren in terms of secrets/loot from area chests unless i'm just misunderstanding this activity and it's purely running through it and that's it, no secrets or anything.

That got Shitness-ified, and Rhulk took a scuba suit to convince the worm gods to be evil, and the worm that told Savota to the depths of their planet was a plant by the Shitness.

I can’t help but feel like the Hive God system of just getting automatically resurrected in your cool Throne World is objectively better than being a Disciple. Believe it or not, it's actually incredibly generous for the genre. The norm is around 80-90 pulls for pity with a 50/50 chance you get a standard banner character instead. Maxing out characters in other gachas can easily run close to a grand.

If you haven't played a gacha before, it's important to note that they release new characters very frequently, with most of them being DPS characters who are slightly more powerful than the last DPS character, so characters like Gwynn and Estela are going to get powercrept very very quickly, so spending money to max out a launch-day DPS character is a trap. It's better to invest in damage buffers like Tan-2 and Umeko or tanks like Jolder, and maybe not max them out all the way but at least pick up their important upgrades.

It’s lighting on a technical level, but it’s also just artistry and talent. D1 has this beautiful painterly look that highlights the melancholic and haunting atmosphere of these golden age ruins, there’s a lot more attention paid to the colours, the shading, the contrast. Destiny 2 is a colder, cleaner, more sterile looking game. It’s sharper, but less dynamic. Certain environments play to these strengths, like the Braytech facilities or Neomuna, but every time they try to port an environment from D1 it looks worse because the game’s art style is just not tuned to those designs anymore. Then you throw in the exodus of talent and the reduced budget, timelines, QA, etc and you just get something that looks shoddier, less polished, and less impressive. The D2 Cosmodrome is especially bad because they basically gave up on delivering it and just made an MVP, whereas in D1 it was the keystone destination that they probably put the most into during development.

The game basically shoots when you point the crosshair on an enemy so you don't have to press a button or pull the trigger, it frees up your index fingers and lets you grab the phone and play with only your thumbs, add gyro and you'll be doing some serious damage on Shifting Gates/Iron Bar vs players.

Around that point in gaming you had a lot of companies specifically doing short cuts of going way heavy on sources of light especially on environments(see how Altar of Flame map had vex lights in the walls and the big ass sun blowing everything out),overuse of dynamic lighting in halls and tunnels, , layers of environmental particle fx filter, and other bullshit. Bungie knowing the game would be on multiple platforms, hardware and settings went over board on this because it's a very easy shortcut to make the game "feel more cinematic", "look intense" by just globbing splattered shit all over for everyone and *not* giving people an option to really meaningfully tone shit down. There's also that fart sniffing "look at this beautiful painting of an environment" aspect where sure something could have a lot going on in it and look cool, but often it's from not the first person perspective and it's where stuff kinda feels a bit janky and cluttered. Turns out that extremely high budget looter shooters that try to be le revolutionarily next gen in every aspect don't really work out that well, and all it takes is some chinese boys making a decent game with a sizeable amount of content, a reason to return to that content, and all of the basic necessities an FPS RPG looter game needs to be considered a video game. Things like actual rewards from doing something, a bunch of different modes, dialogue, NPCs and unique characters you actually get to see do things and not just stand around to occasionally yap in one of 3 budget cutscenes bungie was able to make for that year, a story, actual worldbuilding done in the game itself and not on the developer's website, etc.
