my lukewarm opinion is that fun dialogue should be prioritised over fun prose and fun concept. if you look back at the old logs people were freely sharing, the focus was mainly on the dialogue. The problem is that a lot of current models tend to flanderise characters and give them similar dialogue regardless of how well characterized your bot is. And "fun dialogue" isn't easy for AI to output, nor is it easy to handwrite dynamic, fun dialogue off the cuff. It's easier to generate back and forth fun dialogue if you develop duo/group bots - still hard to obtain tho.
