It is not only restricted to vrchat, it does play nice with every tool and update, unlike vcc that fucked up updating (and your project with it) a couple of tools a few updates back.
It's also not made by vrchat, so you kind of know that if a bug is found, it will be fixed in time.

Even with latest changes to career and progression, the core of this game is fucking around with physics-based combat while enemy AI keeps doing its best to screw themselves over against you. If you want to live through your chuuni fantasies while listening to your favorite overly dramatic vidya OST, don't hesitate, this is exactly where the game excels. Unfortunately it's always been the case that small scale lobbies and impromptu stuff are sometimes organized privately. I think it's understandable that someone would want to personally secure at least one other player for a niche game or something on short notice so they aren't wasting their time waiting for nobody to show up or a random anon to ghost you. Even frequent hosts can only stomach that for so long before giving up.

It's also quite awkward to host for the thread when the game has a low number of player slots; Sometimes a game works best when players are around the same level so a new person joining or a regular falling behind because it was full can mess that up. Likewise nobody likes to be the one left out and half-filled overflow lobbies aren't always worth bothering with, both of which can turn people off even trying to join next time.
