At the time it felt like they didn't want to say anything more since their main focus would've been on the story itself and the other characters, but now looking back on it, we can understand why he took his own life. We know that Shishiku was a psychopath who believed that he had to kill others so that he wouldn't die alone, and we also know that Kageaki grew up idolizing him because of the power and authority that he represented to young Kageaki. However, Kageaki eventually comes to terms with the reality that his father was just a normal man suffering from a terminal illness and that his actions were driven by fear and desperation rather than any sense of heroism or righteousness. This realization leads Kageaki to reject his father's violent path and to find his own way forward, ultimately leading to the events of the game where he takes control of the situation and decides his own fate.

Extra was good, unlimited was interesting, especially the island part, but Alternative is revealed itself as a frustrating and annoying repetition of the same thoughts with a poor combat (mostly due to the lack of text, the Powerpoint circus is objectively terrible and makes you laugh even if you do not have to), csi-fi at wh 40k level, and very not good, mediocre at best, romance.

I was intrigued all the way up until the 12-5 incident, but when I had to listen all this bullshit about that there are other people with their opinions and you should do what you believe is right etc. in a two circles, i began to realize: there is something wrong with this novel. The repetitive nonsense and the pace ruining because of that, to be exact. After the 12-5 half of its remain becomes barely readable, because when you see two characters are about to remain 1 vs 1, you already know this is a start of another one dialogue about previous topics, which were discussed in unlimited and in the first part of alternative.

Most of the dialogues of the second part of alternative is repetitive crap with the following structure: Takeru is praised for being a good person, for his recent actions were performed well or he has nothing to be ashamed of, then he begins to whine and deny everything he was told before, his interlocutor starts to deny his denial, then follows Takeru's monologue that the person he is talking to suffers as he does, its lot in this world as bad as his, how this person is cool asf etc., after that they begin to apologize to each other and this madness continues until the final mission.

I do not know who believes this is a good writing, but we truly live in a society

The original was too old when they tried to bring back the franchise. But if it was made today it would probably sell well enough, since the audience for keyges has grown way bigger over the years. The problem is that it's hard to make something good on top of another thing that was already successful. If you try to improve upon something, most of the time it fails, especially when it comes to sequels. Unless you change everything up completely then it stands a chance.
But Key really needs to find a new direction or they'll die off eventually. They've been stagnating for a while, ever since they stopped working on VNs after Steins;Gate. And even though they're still releasing some pretty popular stuff, their popularity peaked long ago. So unless they want to go downhill from here, they need to find a way to reinvent themselves. Maybe start developing some kind of new IP instead of using existing ones. Or maybe go full western style and create some kind of story-driven RPGs.

This is actually true though. Key was founded on top of YU-NO, which wasn't well received by fans when it first came out and made money back then. The company had to adapt and change direction after realizing their original target audience didn't want to pay for VNs anymore. People who think key makes good stuff just don't realize how hard they've worked to adapt and survive over the years instead of clinging to whatever old formula they originally used. Finished Shiina's route!! That's both friendship routes done! It definitely dragged a little and I swear some of these gags couldn't have worse timing if they tried but I think I like this route a little more than Maho's. Shiina was best girl on Maho's route and it's the same here.
