we can't prove or disprove that current zeph doesn't work for any given reason. it's a waste of time to try to break it down. the point is, it exists. it's tech that they developed. the idea that they could do this is not absurd at all. and it certainly wouldn't cost "millions and millions of dollars and constant maintenance" to reproduce an effect like this on a global scale

it's a lot easier than you think it is, especially since you have stuff like card winrate on hand. for example a card like Nebula is never going to be a bad cast, to pick a quick example (yeah unless it gives you double octosari but even for that you have stats such as 8-drop quality to bear in mind)
again I don't think they rig in the sense of "it's your time to win" (they just throw a bot with a shit deck at you for that), but hearthstone has a very clear bias towards "rare" events and sequences that smells, and it makes sense because these kind of rare moments are probably what keep people playing. and if there is an incentive to do something and the tech to do it is feasible F2P companies WILL do it

I am always in awe at how this deck has such a high winrate. This is by far one of the worst decks in the entire game, I don't get how it wins games at all. It loses to mech warrior, control warrior, cards rogue, starship rogue, questlock, starship lock, cards DK, starship DK and probably a fair bit more. Every once in a while I decide to try it because I forget about how fucking terrible it is and I'm always shocked at how it just can't beat anything.

the thing is, they don't need to influence every single form of rng and every single possible branch of outcomes that could possibly occur on every single future turn of the game, which is why whoever compared it to chess is wrong to make that comparison. chess engines are literally doing like 30^50 calculations with some smart pruning going on to try to minimize that number, but they are quite literally solving every single possible outcome, which isn't what a "hs rigging algorithm" would do or needs to do. a rigging algo like that in hearthstone could simply identify high-leverage spots and influence those spots, and it could also be imperfect in its rigging, failing to rig certain outcomes sometimes, and only generally performing a certain "rigging role" to push things in an intended direction
like, when someone plays fyrakk, the game doesn't need to compute 10 turns in the future based on every single possible randomly generated outcome from fyrakk's rolls. it can be wayyy simpler than that. it just needs to have an idea of if it's gonna spin "good outcomes" or "bad outcomes", and it can accept whatever imperfections might come from using such a shortcut.
again, it doesn't need to be perfect. so if people want to push back against the "rigged crowd" and say that every single possible draw step and discover option can't possibly be actively rigged, they're probably right. but that's also not the point because it doesn't need to do that

I used to play a lot from 2014 to around 2018, took a very long break only playing a couple weeks here and there. Came back earlier this year and while the state is pretty bad, it is indeed more generous than before, so I've been playing it a lot once again. If you enjoy chaos, Wild/Casual still has a lot of that. Be warned though, if you win too much you'll start facing the same 3-5 decks like you mentioned. And they're either very unfair decks that rely on cheese, or retarded aggro decks. Avoid Standard though, unless you find enjoyment in the absolute lack of randomness and winning because your numbers are superior to your opponent numbers.

some of the quests are good in wild, but most are conceptually broken. a bunch suffer from the original quest issue that quest decks cannot be aggressive tempo decks since you pass turn 1. DH and druid in particular can never be good because the thing those quests want to do is more effective if you cut the quest and play a real turn 1 play.

i thought the same thing earlier. they get a 1 mana make 2 1/1 tokens into a 2/1 rush make a 1/1 reborn token to compete for board with aggro, then they get a whole suite of cards to cash in on their corpses as though they had to make some kind of sacrifice to earn those corpses. when in reality they are just playing normal "compete with aggro tools" and then getting extra rewards for using them. it's disgusting

this was already a super high value snowball card in arena but now getting this shit on 1 is like an auto win (as long as you keep up with tempo which the cards you get often help you do)
mixed type minions is an incredibly high value pool, there are almost no duds in there

just came back to this game after 3 months fast legend with straight forward and fair elemental mage
