It's so fucked up that Tekken is precisely the only fighting game i'd ever be interested in, and it's as shitty as it is. I need the cancellable movement, the big movelists, the slow attritional neutral, the chunky animations. VF will never cut it. No 2D game can scratch the itch. the problem with making a 3d fighting game in this day and age is that rollback netcode simply doesn't work as well as it would in a 2d fighting game. fluidity of movement takes a hit at just 2 rollback frames so you'd have to take 3 or 4 frames of input lag just to compensate
