I never used to think about proximity block in 6 but after getting destroyed about 200 times in a row by the Marisa guy it's finally sinking in just how many moves have it and how early in animations it kicks in
It's surprising, moves with proximity guard have it from like frames 2-4 onwards in a lot of cases

Sf6 is popular for its own reasons, it has a great on-ramp for noobs with modern, the drive system is very intuitive and driven impact is most of what you'll have to worry about at low level, and it's got a really good culture surrounding it in Japan to get people interested and picking up the game, the west completely fails at this, mostly NA

I'm in shock that no other fighting game has been able to replicate this, they keep tripping over their own shoelaces in various ways, whether it's insane system complexity like 2xko, netcode/online issues with other games/lack of interest leading to a doom spiral

I only played SF4 so can't say how she was in SF5, but I had a friend that was extremely good with her and anytime we would play he would be at 400apm just constantly pressing buttons. I played Zangief so I was at like 100apm max. Just constantly inputting and cancelling input just to condition your opponent.

She had a crazy mixup game, crazy overheads, and probably had the most guaranteed ultra in all of SF4 (maybe 2nd to Rufus). Playing against a good cviper was like being put through a blender at the local dick-flattening factory. I never played SF4 long enough to the point where USF4 came out so I can't speak to that.

If you're looking for a character that takes a lot of effort to play/high skill ceiling then Cviper is your character. Much like Dhalsim, a lot of people you run into will simply not know the matchup and you will steamroll them.
