I'd argue TS handily has a higher budget than the most recent SMT. Every Digimon having their own signatures attacks, voice lines, and victory screen animations is a good deal above what few demons in VV have. Not to mention all the rideable Digimon and the areas looking better than most of what VV had to offer.

If you're planning what digimon you want way ahead of time, it can be a little spread sheety, but you can play the games completely blind and be fine. There's merits to playing both ways, so it's honestly up to how you want to experience it.

You might need to grind a bit but it is much harder to fuck things up beyond repair by just fooling around.

Imperfect list of missing Digimon up to Savers, excluding armours, hybrids and redundant recolours (ignore SandYanmamon), also ignore the lack of devas, just assume they're with the holy beasts. Hope they rectify this, but I think most of these are never evers since they're unsellable as DLC. The wait for the next game begins.

if you're worried about missing shit, don't worry.
story RPGs are not cryptic at all. things are very number-dependent though (I always end up overpowered since I do every sidequest so I can't speak for their difficulty). there are very few one-time areas (cyber sluts+HM have a few though, so be careful). the RPGs are straightforward so no need for guides

Yeah but in Betamon's case Airdramon was pretty much designed to be its B line like how Agumon had both Greymon and Tyranomon as its exclusive evos. Say what you will about version 2-5 but in version 1 it was pretty obvious there was some thought put into child -> adult evos hence why the generic ones either could evolve to were just Devimon, Meramon and the failmon Numemon.
