This is where damage sponge enemy design fully took over. Brutes and elites are so tanky you have little choice but to play around them and pick off the small arms first before saving them for last and killing them involves just dumping ammo.
This really bloats play time; missions take way too long to complete for how much ground you cover.
But this is also where the games largely stop pressuring you from all directions and forcing action and quick thinking from the player, instead keeping all enemies at 12 o'clock. So the prevailing strategy is just to keep distance and plink everything with your bloomy DMR, which sucks.
Besides all that, paper vehicles, crippled plasma pistol range (ties into the above) and profoundly retarded friendly AI.
Comfy aesthetics though.

Mostly see Reach but swap brutes for knights and now the aesthetics are terrible. Also hardly any vehicle combat opportunities aside from those two mantis sections.

Everything sucks. Barely qualifies as a Halo campaign. Seems like strengths and weaknesses for guns don't exist, you just use whatever whenever with similar results. Plinking simulator with no strategy to anything.

The boss battles are obnoxious especially toward the end, the linear missions aren't all that interesting. No post-release weapons in campaign.
That said the free-roam exploring the ring is the best Halo experience since ODST if not earlier

Invasion was probably dropped due to the lack of Elites which in turn were likely dropped thanks to limitations of the 360. Like we know there were already problems coming up in Reach's dev cycle that forced them to combine the Beam Rifle and Sentinel Beam - and Halo 4 tried to cram even more onto that same console. The game 100% should have been an Xbone launch title instead of an end-of-life 360 title.

It is that deep. There is cut dialogue that was partially extracted from the game files that Staten removed. Not sure why. It made The Banished seem like the good guys but they also do comically evil shit in that game. Which makes chief's dialogue about escharum bizarre. It's as if there's one version of shitfinite where the banished are the good guys and one where they are cartoon villains. And they wanted to remove the good guy part but didn't work hard enough. Or they just weren't on the same page when they finalized the story. They only had 6 years.
