After the shit he's been through, I can't blame Batman having to be this big when Bane is a literal behemoth. I've been hooked with the comic series because of how unhinged it gets, and I love how Bane is along with Killer Croc and Catwoman. I personally dislike Freeze's design but its been sweet so far.

Like, when i read Batman i want to see him act smart. him defeating his enemies using tactics and adapting to the situation with his gadgets. i want to see a peak human detective beat the shit out of stronger foes through intelligence.
like yeah, seeing him build shit to kill gods, or seeing Superman fart an omni-omniverse away is cool and all, but those things detract from the characters, which is why I was put off by Batman's new design.

The "Absolute" in Absolute Batman comes from a plotline in the mainline DC run where Darkseid gains the power to create his own universe, the "Absolute Universe", and he rewrites it to make the heroes in it miserable. In Batman's case, he's middle class instead of being born with billionaire parents, and Joker gets all of the wealth the Waynes normally do.

At first people joked about Absolute Batman because they thought he'd be the brawn brute instead of the smart calculated billionaire people are used to by now. I personally didn't mind it much but I felt the bat logo axe was silly. But the tone shifted the moment Bane was introduced and he's the best iteration of Bane imo since he's a very credible threat that has more to it than just being a big brute since he's intelligent like Bane should be with some other iterations. While I didn't like Absolute Freeze's design, it was tragic and fitting for the theme of the comic. I just wish Freeze looked more ghoulish.
