Here I solved the timeline and the sonic of the past/other dimension. Blue is the main time line green is the classic/different dimension timeline. Silver is Light Sonic, Blaze is Nega-Sonic. For all intents and purposes, this is just Sonic & Blaze. The entire point of Sonic & Blaze is their dichotomy as polar opposites, like the north and south magnetic poles. This should logically carry over to Silver & Blaze, since Silver mirrors Sonic. Within this binary system, what would a "third" factor logically be?

I like to think of Blaze as the ideal 5th character, after Knuckles, whose after Amy, whose after Tails. If I line them all up with the numbers I guess I arbitrarily assigned them, the middle would be Amy. Which would result in Sonic/Silver, Amy and Blaze. This is what 06 did.

Amy as Girl Sonic, and Blaze as Nega-Sonic are inherently opposites to each other as well. Two girls designed around Sonic, where one mirrors him and the other foils him. But the dynamic between Blaze and Amy exists, in some form, between Blaze and whoever her "Tails" is. In Rush, they used Cream for this. In Rush Adventure, she got her own ACTUAL Tails, which is Marine.

So I guess in conclusion, the ideal third teammate for Silver & Blaze is Marine, after alll...? Or at the very least, someone specifically Amy-shaped in overall vibe and personality and such. But because Silver is "Fly" and Blaze is "Speed", she'd have to be "Power". Which Amy isn't, and Marine is Nega-Tails so she should logically be Fly too, at least the same way Kit would be.

The point from there is what 06 did with having Amy be the third character for Silver & Blaze.

Using Marine as an alternative is basically a reskin of that, since Marine is largely just another Amy despite being "Nega-Tails".

My train of thought at first when writing that post was "if Sonic/Silver is the lead guy here, and Blaze is his polar-opposite, who would be the third be in this binary-system?", but then I realized that Blaze herself is opposite to Amy. In a similar way, at least, to Knuckles being Sonic's Rival but often being grouped in alongside Tails.

So, if Silver is with Blaze, then the third should be Amy, who is also opposite to Blaze through her link back to Sonic. But logically, Amy has Team Rose. But, Blaze has her own discount Amy as a result of trying to give Blaze a discount Tails, and Amy is basically a Nega-Tails, so we get Marine.

So the logical third candidate for Silver & Blaze is Marine.

Rouge is the real Leader of Team Dark, for all intents and purposes. What are you smoking, to ever come to the conclusion that Silver = Rouge?

Between Silver & Blaze, BLAZE is the Rouge.

That means SILVER = Sonic, because Blaze = / = Sonic.

Both are Sonics equivalents from different worlds, but Silver is the direct Sonic clone, Blaze is Sonic's OPPOSITE.

Either way, there's no reason to conclude that a rogue Eggman robot like Omega would be the third guy. That makes no sense, at all. Shadow, Rouge & Omega are from Sonic Adventure 2's Dark Side, which itself is built on Sonic, Knuckles and Gamma's Adventure gameplay. Omega is a replacement for Eggman who was a replacement for Gamma.

Between Silver & Blaze, the best fit is Amy. Because the only fitting candidate for a third member when one member is Blaze and the other is just Sonic basically, is someone like Amy. And that means the best fit is simply Marine.

Cream is Amy's Tails. Cream CONTRASTS Amy's traits. What they have in common is the generic idea of "Girl". But who they ARE as girls is vastly different. Cream is calm and collected, patient, raised with strict discipline making her very polite and reasonable.

Same with Princess Daisy. Luigi and Peach are both tied directly to Mario, but Daisy is just giving Luigi a Peach, and Peach a Luigi. When you look at Sonic X and how that kind of stuff handles them, Cream is the one who is treated the most like the general "cute girl" character, while Amy is treated like the contrast to that.

This means that CREAM was Girl 1, and AMY was Girl 2. The "Amy" that all the Amy haters hate, who gets treated like a psycho stalker, was more like the secondary, contrasting girl character than an actual primary lead female that she's supposed to be.

Try and fit Cream into the Core 4, and Cream directly intrudes on both Amy and Tails' roles. It's one thing to have to balance Amy and Cream, but having to balance Tails and Cream at the same time, while keeping the focus squarely on Sonic, is a nigh-impossibility. They're all gonna get blended together because Cream blurs the boundary between Amy and Tails too much. She shares too many of both of their traits that they all become one big mass of cuteness or whatever, and so Tails would end up being treated as a walking brain and Amy will end up having her aggressive side amplified to astronomical areas.

Cream in Heroes is 100% firmly Amy's sidekick, and the whole point with Team Rose is their goals aligning into one big mass of wanting to save all of their friends. Amy, Cream and Big were helping each other just as much as they were helping themselves, if not more so. Amy was leading the team with the focus of finding EVERYONE, not just Sonic. Amy's priority was also on finding Chocola and Froggy, and throughout the story, Amy serves as an uplifting motivator inspiring Cream and Big to keep on going with the faith that they will find their friends.

I don't mean screentime wise or whatever, I mean how it gets perceived.

Between Cream and Amy and how they are portrayed in stuff like X, many aspects of Amy's character is projected onto Cream instead, and Amy is seen as the flanderized "psycho stalker" version of herself. Amy is supposed to be a compassionate, uplifting, optimistic cute character, but all those traits end up projected onto Cream, so Amy is just seen as some crazy girl who likes Sonic with nothing else to her. Cream basically overtakes what Amy is supposed to be, while Amy becomes a flattened joke parody of herself. This is how they were perceived.

Cream is kinda stupid but that makes her cute. She's nice and polite but also blunt in a way where she sometimes says rude things without realizing. This is also cute. That's how I think of SONIC, because that's what a cartoon mascot trickster whatever is and that's the mold Sonic is built from. Sonic is Cool Mickey, Mickey Mouse himself is Donald and Goofy combined.

Donald is the mischievous, short-tempered prankster side incarnate, and Goofy is the clumsy, silly, carefree side incarnate. Amy is Girl Sonic. Sonic is the Cool Mickey Mouse, and Amy is directly inspired by Minnie Mouse.

Mickey Mouse is Donald + Goofy. Donald was created from Mickey's mischievous side, his "Bad" side", so that Mickey can look "good" by comparison. I was thinking about this a few days ago when I was going over how Tails was portrayed in Forces.

All characters are sub-Sonic; a Sonic in their own way. Flawed but still enough of a mirror that they can stand beside the wind. Tails is Kid Sonic, the Robin. He should be fully capable of dealing with things with or without Sonic while keeping his flaws visible enough that the audience can tell he is not Sonic. When he showed fear upon Chaos 0 showing up, it was like seeing Sonic himself cower before him and no one would ever want that.

How this pertains to Silver is that he is also meant to be a Sonic and Sonic 06 establishes him as a Sonic that needs another Sonic multiple times to get through the story. Now, this isn't any different from SÀ2 Sonic needing other characters. The key difference is Sonic is aware when he needs help and asks for it, where as it is thrust upon Silver. This leads to him being read as powerful but not capable of leading or making important decisions

All of that just to say that the position of mentor that Blaze had should have been filled with Sonic. Silver is written like a character that needs to grow and show how similar and different he is to Sonic. But because he is a male hedgehog paired with someone that isn't one and the story itself does not really do enough to show growth, he comes across as a Tails in a hedgehog body

Ben 10 is really just a variant of a western version of Sonic at his core. Although, the core "idea" of Ben is purely being a KID Hero, how that gets interpreted since Day 1 is being inherently Sonic-like and that has never changed. I do like Omniverse the best, especially since he does feel the most comparable to Sonic there. He feels the same as his classic self while also still clearly being a very capable hero whose been playing this game for years by now and has saved the universe many times, all without losing those core character traits that define him. But it still feels like there are many moments where those same traits are treated like flaws, to the point that they have to pair him with a "Nega-Sonic" type of character to "reel him in". Dude, -I- have compared Tails and Amy's arcs in Adventure numerous times, you don't see me claiming they're the same character. They aren't. The stories also aren't 1:1. They are parallels, but the actual point of the story is still vastly different. They don't just learn the same lesson, what they actually learn is the inverse of each other.

Tails' baseline is following Sonic as Robin, while Amy has been a damsel that Sonic had to save. To put it as simply as possible: Tails' arc is about branching out away from Sonic. Amy's arc is about bridging the gap between her and Sonic. Tails needs to go his own way, but Amy is specifically trying to keep up with Sonic.

Miles "Tails" Prower and Amy Rose are NOT, AT ALL, the same character.

I can't believe I have to say this.

Tails and Amy are both the "Sonic Followers" of the cast. Their core underlying purpose is following Sonic wherever he goes, as his closest possible companions that will drop everything to be by Sonic's side. And they've both had a Sonic Adventure story-arc centered around forming or establishing their independence from Sonic and that "follower" role.

Does that make them the same character, just differentiate between boy and girl? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Tails is more different from Sonic than he is similar. Lacking Sonic's core character traits is the entire point, because he's the kid who WANTS to be like Sonic and has to learn from him directly. Where Sonic will leap face-first into danger without hesitation, Tails WILL hesitate and be much more cautious. He's more observant, more cerebral. But where Sonic has a sharper edge to him as a hedgehog with "attitude", Tails is soft and fluffy as a fox with a very gentle and timid demeanor. Sonic rarely takes things seriously, but Tails has a much more serious mindset. Sonic is very wise and street smart, Tails is very naive and book smart. Tails is Sonic's sidekick, so he has to be like a Foil.

The same does NOT apply to Amy. The difference between Sonic & Amy is that where Sonic is cool and aloof, Amy is passionate and enthusiastic. Sonic's true feelings are kept subtle while Amy's true feelings are very in-your-face. And so, the romance between them is Amy being very overexuberant about her intense passion for Sonic, while Sonic is overwhelmed by her passion and doesn't care for the romance stuff or a relationship. But, both Sonic & Amy love adventure. They both do whatever they feel is right in the moment. Amy loves the excitement and thrill, the adrenaline, Sonic brings to her life. The distance between them has only reinforced Amy's underlying nature as a mirror of Sonic, complete with her own kid-sibling.
