In the past, it used to rule the entire Continent.
Moreover, during a Demon Invasion, it managed to repel and seal one of them.
It has a unique culture.
However, JAPAN has lost it's unified goverment about 100 years ago.
Many local leaders have been fighting since, aiming to unify the country.
This is the Warring States period.
There are many lords fighting for supremacy. Currently, 7 major states are said to be the closest to unifying the realm.
The Date Clan, an army of Mononoke lead by the Youkai King Date Masamune from Ooshu.
The Houjou Clan, a family with a long history centered on the Kantou Region, the current lord is Houjou Choushin.
The Uesugi Clan, with an army mostly made up of women, the lord Uesugi Kenshin is said to be JAPAN's strongest.
The Takeda Clan, a powerful state boasting the strongest retainers alongside cavalry units, the current lord being Takeda Shingen.
The Oda Clan, originally a minor power, It subdued the neighboring Saitou, Asai, Asakura and Tokugawa states, one after another.
A rising state that became the strongest of them all.
Their current leader, Oda Nobunaga, is an inmortal monster.
The Yamamoto Clan, centered around the Kansai region, it's being pushed back by the Oda Clan.
the Mouri Clan, lead by the genius commander Mouri Motonari, who conquered the western provinces in the span of a single generation.

But lately, the Oda Clan has been amassing power extremely quickly.
Oda Nobunaga, known as the inmortal monster, has been slaughtering the people of the lands he conquered one after another.
Giving no mercy to those who defied him...
He killed indiscriminately, ruling through terror.

Ok so apparently not conquering all the territories leads me to a normal (or bad?) end. But why the fuck does the stupid white whale have to fuck me over? His angel armies are so fucking powerful.
