it's unironically a good pistol even in later stages of the game, because it's light and 9x18 can be found everywhere, and it's one of the most accurate pistols when upgraded. if you use crosshairs/iron sights mod/have good aim when shooting from the hip, you can score headshots with ease, which can't be said about many other pistols. i always use it to get rid of bandits or dogs in southern locations.

Taking a break from my current playthrough of OP2.2, has anyone unfucked the god-awful gunplay of GAMMA? I don't mind the focus on AP/non-AP ammo, but a normally armored guy should not be tanking 5+ headshots on close range of any type of ammo while the played dies instantly from one or two bullets

I know, that's partly why I'm stuck. And I'm not a tech guy, so Idk what the differences between those cards are specifically. Like sure, +11% according to this, but Idk how seriously I can take that or if there are other things like PhysX that I don't know about.

It runs the game quite well, so it comes down to price difference. I went with my 4080 super half because it was an open box special so it was way cheaper than others, half because I want that 32 bit physx support for some games I play. Cryostasis, finally played without horrendous framedrops, what an experience.
If the 5080 is close in price or not much more, it wouldn't hurt to go with it. If you have a REAL computer (read: ATX mobo, no mini shite), worst case scenario is you could at some point buy a cheap ass 3050 piece of shit and make that the dedicated physX card.

In desdocs Parasite spores were supposed to control infected humans AND mutants and be able to "use some of their abilities", so at the very least some infected stalkers would be able to shoot a gun at you and overall there would be more variety in infected creatures than just a zombie civilian that spits aids in your face.
In the early versions, they were supposed to infest the Dead City and there was a quest where you would help Duty clear out the place. In OLR they're just a generic enemy found everywhere in the world and don't really have anything going on with them.

There are quite a few, mostly visuals, AI tweaks, item packs, weapon packs and so on. Someone even made a Misery clone for S2. Don't think there are any new quests or story mods yet, though.
Can't tell much more, I don't really play with mods in fear of some new patch inevitably breaking my entire playthrough.

Well, there's at least this one for pistols from the OG trilogy:

There's also a similar thing being made for rifles, but it only has LR300 and a couple of shotguns so far. Aside from that, there's a bunch of single-weapon mods scattered around Steam Workshop and Nexus. So, yeah, not really "weapon packs", we're still a long way until we get something at the level of AO for the old games.

They've added offline simulation and NPC persistency in the world. It's still a 100 metre online radius around the player, but the NPCs don't just despawn, but continue their movement after leaving the bubble, fight enemies on their way etc. until they arrive at their destination, where you can meet them later.
So not quite at the level of the trilogy yet, but at least now you can go to 100 Rads and meet the same Semen Connoisseur you saw in Cordon a few days ago.

The original trilogy had ten non-unique pistols, 3/3/4 for each calibre, S2 has five, one of which was added in a patch. It's so stupid that the main 9x19mm sidearm in the game is a unique USP variant.

I've read bits and pieces saying that they did and did not use AI upscales, or that they removed russian stuff from the game due to the war thing, but I don't really have an actual list of changes.

I plan to do a vanilla playthrough this time, so either version should work, but is playing the enhanced edition worth it or should I stick with the original? Currently the only appeal of the enhanced edition (to my knowledge) is the steam achievements, but that's iffy at best.
