Hard for some to accept but yes. Because they put effort into writing their relationship. The music, art, and writing all went together. For people who want to see the traditional Hero/Heroine back in mainline but expanded to give both of them more depth this is a good sign. It means character driven narratives are appealing to mainline players and Atlus knows it. I don't know, this seems subjective. Needing less stacks to maximize them but also needing to refresh isn't bad, it's just a different way of balancing things compared to infinite duration but needing to stack more while sometimes avoiding some arbitrary "too high, I dekaja now" threshold or being able to squeeze enemy press turns when some of them like to dekaja at one stack.

I'm unfamiliar with V cheese that isn't super inconsistent "stay at 1hp with Adversity and hope nothing goes wrong", so enlighten me as to more of V's cheese, but I didn't feel much difference in difficulty between both games aside from Apocalypse mode's hidden innate Sukunda making misses noticeably more common.

Basically all this to say that I enjoy both games, and don't see much difference in quality between the two.

Franchises will never improve if fans refuse to pull out the poisoned roots before it fully grows. All the games I've mentioned were the source of many issues for their respective series, but people dismissed the worries and criticism because "It's fun". Which is not a good excuse to defend bad products.
The poisoned roots started with Persona 4 and grew throughout the years, which began to infect the mainline SMT branch with SMT IV. People didn't bother to cut those roots with IV since it was the gateway to SMT for newcomers. They tried though with IVA, although it wasn't fully successful due to the huge amounts of defenders for the game. Now that root has grown more with SMT V and barely anyone is trying to stop this since it's an another gateway SMT.
Only god knows how horrid SMT VI will be since Atlus got away with a unfinished product that suffered from development hell and different directors.

What you're calling a jump in logic is actually putting two pieces of lore together about the same character. That's not subtext. She never says that her feelings come from her alterations, only her proto-fiend base.

The CoV angel dungeon fucking sucks. The gimmick has no thought to it, you'll get to where you need to go and grab all chests eventually just by flipping every switch once. At least Ishtar's brap palace required a bit of maneuvering with the winds to get to places, and even that was inferior to the outdoor exploration. I figured that after having more time in the oven that they could cook an indoor area that was on par with an outdoor area.

Not a fan with how ass their skillsets are + linear the fights goes. Take out Koumokuten and 99% of their threat level is gone since everyone else is with Dynes. The stats for 150 are fair, 300s is around some end-game bosses. Dekaja/Dekunda being required instead of buffing/debuff is unique and could account for their weak skills, though they'll always be at +2/-2 when attacking with how their AI's ordered so it only matters for your attacks unless they won't use it every round. Should still be fun because team v team fights are in VV. Also everyone but the seraphs get 2 press turns per member, so be happy their skillset sucks since they have 8 turns?

Firstly it's cursed by the main head being Metatron and not Michael. I do like the idea of a Law-Qadistu fight (their magatsuhi skill's the unique seraph attack, does work to debuff AGL), sadly being in Kanji means I'm having to estimate movepools. Considering the above had pierce and I see Metatron has Judgement Light (pierce Light Ragnarok, thank you numbers), Pierce seems to be a big thing in these fights which could work if tempered which leads to the jank moveset moment. Metatron has custom considering Judgement Light is on his set but it seems the other archangels have their skills from the 3 seraph quests, all of them actually have vanilla stats from Godborn too. This also means that there's no buffing unless Metatron has Luster Candy and not Debilitate (what he has normally). Another one that I think could be fun to push builds around. Still weird its Metatron and not Michael, we could've had a Metatron/Sandalphon fight instead is all I'm saying.

This is the part that makes it feel extremely unfinished. No enemies, but also like 10 different clusters of orbs to restore HP/mp/magatsuhi even though you're not fighting? It's like there were supposed to be enemies but they vanished.

In general Shakan just feels like an unwanted intermission, or a long side quest. No wide area worth exploring, lots of dead rooms with no enemies, no mimans, no relics, no mitamas, no glory cubes, and most importantly no abscesses so I'm sitting on like 700 glory right now, edging as I'm waiting for the final mastery skills, skill slot, and essence learning miracles which I know will drain me once I get them.

Like Vishnu's unique skill isn't pierce while having a pierce attack so wind NDRs don't wall him but still matters. His passive could've been neat if it wasn't a 50% heal on proc on a team with Dekunda/Luster Candy. Mediarahan is fucking scary too. Shiva's resistances are weird, not only custom but way worse than base game (went from Drain Fire/Elec + phys resist to just Repel Elec) but Prayala being almighty insta-kill is cancer so fuck him. Maybe in practice this isn't so bad, feels like it can get scammy real fast depending on what procs the AI to use Prayala, maybe just target Shiva into the sun while having some Elec neutral demons as he's the big damage.

First we have broken a rule of standard SMTVV boss design, no weaknesses. Satan is the lone exception except he swaps his resistances with whomever he eats so he'll always have weaknesses past first plunder, Guan Yu only Nulls Phys while Huang Di resists elements + reflects Light. You can't get press turns barring crits, magic in Guan Yu's case. As for skills, Dragon Blade is native pierce + auto-crit + double pleroma (something bosses don't normally have) + Masakado's Innate (nerfed to only boost crit damage but DBlade auto-crits), I do smell bullshit if he spams but its also base 180 pwr for the all hit, less than Hades Blast. Huang Di either has pierce 250 elec attack (that also gets crit damage boosted based on active effects) or Figment Whiff, Dragon Eye isn't enough. Diarama can get annoying as a DPS check but maybe in practice is fine, 10k's a lot but you can get high damage going when unimpeded (no buff/debuffs from them). And without crit-rate boosting, fairer masakados?

So the - of God skills have pierce back, Lucifer will be happy to hear that. Sabaoth has random ailments, Shaddai is a Debiliate, and Elohim's Inferno is raw damage (150 for first hit is weak but who knows the random hits afterwards) while his innate gives everyone crit chance. They do have other moves, Shaddai has Almighty weaker Raganrok/Mediarama/Luster Candy, Elohim has Concentrate, while Sabaoth has Makajamaon + Debilitate/Dekunda. Stat check we are scary with Sabaoth at 375, Shaddai's tame if bulky, and Elohim has a mighty 440 MAG. Note the footage has Susano-o block to Null a pierce skill so maybe there's more counter-play or its part of his hacked stats. And with 6 turns of pierce/almighty/random ailments that I can see this get annoying fast, at least there's no almighty insta-kill? Maybe if they're frail its fine? Still don't like your resistances not mattering at all as everything is either pierce or Almighty.

Super Lucifer had 506 MAG when throwing his Barions, drops to the 490s in phase 3. Metatron has 358 MAG, Tsukuyomi had 393 STR/344 MAG while Beano-Abdiel at Shakan was 393/418, Seth from the bridge has 409/366 with mazandyne/madness claws, and a super-boss for reference. Vishnu has 483/615 STR/MAG. As for Luck, they seem to be a bit on the higher end of things but not highest end, Horus side-quest boss/Beelzebub/Vasuki/Beano Adbdiel/Tsukuyomi are there and have 488/362/395/369/369 LCK respectively. Mid/late 200s puts them around the same benchmarks of base late game VV bosses like Zeus+Odin, Khonsu, Anansi, and Fionn's rematch if wanting to think about ailments as there's no ailment immunities among the fights.

I hope in smt VI that they introduce dual element pleromas. I appreciate what apocalypse and V did with skill potentials differentiating demons by specialties but around mid game you start really building towards specific elements and by endgame it's most efficient to stack dual pleromas for a single damage type while having weakness protection and stuff like enduring soul so you don't have room to accommodate another element at full power, or sometimes at all. It feels a little wasteful to have strong demons whose selling point is multiple specialties when past midgame you really only want to use one.

Also I am not a fan of how V showers you with Sutras. Apocalypse locked them behind the post game tier dlc (right? I haven't played it so I don't recall) which is the opposite extreme I also didn't like, but you shouldn't have such easy access to +9 affinities because it detracts a lot of the feeling you get when fusing up to stronger demons. I get that it was to help you bring any demon you want with you to endgame but you should've gotten a drip feed from chests and quests rather than constant bombardment from your navigator.

Counter-argument, I like how SMTV let you genuinely interact with the affinities by giving you sutras and not locking it behind the worst SMT dungeon on the 3DS that you have to save-load farm to make sure you get the right sutras you want (IVA has them behind Twisted Tokyo which is where the fiends reside in a minimap-less keyhunt of the shitty domains). If there's one thing I do agree, its more the method could be expanded upon (navigators be more upfront about their numbers, maybe an expensive glory that lets you buy them from the shop without going Godborn akin to Grimoires also being buyable). Alternatively, maybe tie it more to the Magatsuhi demons and again, have someone like Nahobeeno/Ippon-Datara/Mara specialize not just in fights but Magatsuhi demons. I saved them until the end because I didn't have the full information of the compendium to know what I'd want to use them on, same with incenses, so they weren't devaluing demon fusion.

None of the enemies have changed movesets, they're just scaled to level 150 with the only changes being how much incenses the AI gave to the stats. Nuwa at Minato will still be using Zanma/Mazio with pierce only being in Magatsuhi turns (instead of crits) for example. This means everything is closer together as a baseline which is what makes it where testing teams on bosses not feel too rough, balancing them for end game won't completely destroy midgame trainer encounters if wanting variety.

Essences will still be Grimoire and reloads. If you don't want to break endgame, have demon stats cap out at ~350, Super Lucifer will be scary but its doable with proper team building. If going CoC, make sure to stock up on Tsukuyomi essences because they're not automatically unlocked in Godborn for some reason. Similar vein for Grimoires as you can farm in NG for max stacks before going NG+ and immediately get demons on level. If you have the Mitamas and just want to hit 150, Evergreen Dance Nahobino + Yabasume Shot Matador + Loa + Genma is the bread and butter, make use if Attract Pipes/Riberamas/herding to get consecutive encounters on the mitamas for even more money/exp (multiply alongside Genma's magatsuhi skill).

Note you can make the Matador just from recruiting demons at Minato but it is a long process, do not recommend.

If you did all the sidequests, you don't need to worry then and can keep them around for when you need alignment points, main exception being for alignment locked quests like the mother goddess one Sophia gives you after you've opened up the compendium a fair bit and whomever asks for aid after doing the Three Rings quest (fighting Raphael, Gabriel, and Uriel). Also if the goal's 100% compendium you only need 3 runs that consist of a Law route, a Chaos route, a Neutral Route, a CoV route, and a CoC route (so Law CoV is 2 of 3 here).

Welcome to what made me break the EXP Mitama DLC open after staving it off, because while I had a great chunk of fun, a lot was in spite of its execution rather than thanks to it. It is, you do keep everything when transferring to the mode, the compendium, your stock, the talismans for the magatsuhi skills, whats in your inventory, money, levels, etc. It is a full transfer, just that the shop for some unfathomable reason is reset to base and you have to re-unlock the ability to buy the Pleroma essences, Grimoires, and Whitted Goats. Note Godborn is the NG+ everything's scaled to level 150, Reborn is you transferring over but its with vanilla levels (so you free Amanazako from level 1 Pretas using Lunge instead of 150 Pretas using Lunge).

I'm not joking. I have yet to play P5/R (I will get through it some day, who knows) but everyone I have talked to had their playthrough of the original finish around 120 hours if they played to aim for all Social Links and 60 if they played at a fast pace.
60 hours is the amount of time it takes you to play Raidou at a slow pace with no NG+. P5/R is unironically one of the longest and most bloated JRPGs of all time.

In the end they're meant to show the MC's dynamic with his own partner. If perhaps you added 10 years to that relationship, this is what it would look like.
