This should only happen if you go genocide after you befriended them in the previous run first. This is individual with each demon, so if you bonded with Lampas (the plant girl) she'll remember Kazuya holding her and being romantic and try to save Kazuya, but the other demons will not unless you bonded with them too.

his condition pretty much only exists for no other purpose than to be the justification behind why the route is wrong, which is part of why people take issue with it: it's not that it's unjustifiable, it's that the narrative bands out of the way to screw you over for doing it.

The reason the Genocide route in Undertale works narratively is for a few reasons: You have to go out of the way to do it, removing any pretense of self-defense, and the Monsters are not obnoxious, evil, etc, and have more understandable motives, so they don't really deserve it.

But the main one is the emphasis on the player.
YOU are the reason everything goes to hell in the end.
You took an innocent child, and through your deliberate conscious actions, turned them into the vessel for a murderous, blood-crazed spirit that you created. Even the 'spirit' (Chara) is not inherently malicious or evil at first, but your choices wind up eventually turning it into a sociopath who only cares about bloodshed and power. It's both a representation of people who only care about having the strongest optimal character and what a player character who was made to do nothing but kill things and be the strongest would actually become like. It ends the route by (attempting to) kill the player, and after that point destroys the game unless you give in to it's demands or just delete the files

The reason it fails with SHRIFT is because before you've even done anything "Chara" already exists.

The more I see SHRIFT concerned the more I feel nobody got the proper grasp on the purpose of a Genocide Route. It can punish you for that (even in Undertale it's essentially a dead end that fucks your file) but it's an equal possibility to be run through.

I think I'm starting to see the end goal here anons.
I've made some new tentacles for her to better suit the scale between how she looks compared to Kraken and Poseidoness (hopefully they still look thick but not disproportionately so), and I'm happier with the newer versions of the front most ones that aren't just modified kraken tentacles, although they still resemble hers just due to the fact that they're still both tentacles with suckers. I spent a good while of freetime I had yesterday to trying different poses and arrangements for what works best with her in this style, but I believe I've finally come to a set of the lower and middle pairs that I think looks pretty good.

I just need to finalize the upper/back most pair and how they'll be posed and attached; I'm not satisfied with how they look at the moment, but I think they're getting close.
I'll probably have to do something about her hair and it's outline however so it doesn't get lost and just blend in with her tentacles though.

And believe you me anon as someone who cares so deeply about accuracy that I've sourced all of the colors and references on the chibi I've been creating from the in-game cg's of the girl in question, not everything is the same even between the same artist drawing the same character, sometimes a different color or slightly different hue can make all the difference in how vibrant or saturated or noticeable a particular detail is. Even in the original drawings of Ilias she has some different shades between her scenes and her cgs themselves; they're generally just slight changes in hue, but they're still present. But she looks fine in all of them.
Caring about deviating to the point of a girl looking off-model is reasonable, but as long as the colors are simply slight or minor changes in the shading, then there's not really anything wrong with that.

pic related has pretty much nothing to do with any of this at all, but I have a (probably larger than I would like to think it is) folder of old ilias images and memes that I never use anymore and that look on her face still kinda cracks me up inside.

It's like when westaboos draw Nagatoro as black and give her dreads and fat lips and shit.
It's like "No, you didn't draw the character and your art doesn't even have a superficial resemblance to the character and should be purged from the tags and put into the dumpster where it belongs".

It would obviously be less annoying if it looked decent and any nonzero amount of effort went into it, but it didn't so I roasted him and his defenders.
