Oh duh, healing items/grenades being recharges vice craftables/loot was literally the first change I noticed. Anything else I should keep in mind that might be unfun? For reference I'm a full-auto pistol/katana/hack build since I thought it'd fit a Corpo V plus I found out the hard way a katana/hack/tech build was too squishy and lacked enough engagement with my very first V. I do know nethacks are much less powerful now and they changed katanas so finishers are now a perk, which are both fine by me.

I still don't have much health with this V, so apart from using katana-deflects to close the distance I hop around just to throw off the AI aim a little. That lead to me accidentally zooming into this break in map collision, which turns out you CAN reach by setting up on the desk. I think that one pack was the largest, regarding aspect ratios you do have to take into account the sitting/lying poses and of course the ones that are a bit wide, that's why the horizontal pics look a bit janky but I choose to have them like that for the sake of keeping the sequence intact

if you are on GOG, turn off auto updates in case a random update comes out.
there are a few tricky ways to achieve the same effect on Steam. whenever the game updates the few required mods need an update.

for keeping track of your mods. it wouldnt hurt to hold on to the zip files. Maybe rename them so you know what they are for later. You can rely on your nexus profiles previously downloaded list or you can make your own text file of mod names and URLs so you know what things are and where to find them for updates.

I think he needs to die very close to the door for it to happen. Maybe the game needs him there to set off a flag tha results in the dialog popping up? I did it by chance and then spent a few good attempts trying to get it to happen again, learned that Woodsman only becomes attackable after Johnny makes his quip and killing him too soon didn't make the dialog tree pop up.

Ok the game is getting WAY too easy and a single one of my quickhacks does damage equals to several times over the health of my enemies. Is the Enemies of Night City mod any good? Not a fan of it. Sandevistan enemies dodging everything with no cooldown, rushing you down with full auto weapons staggering you to death wasn't my idea of difficulty or fun.

As a start, I'd say that despite liking 2077, I find the game (purposefully) miserable. It's one of the reasons why I consider The Star as the most satisfying vanilla ending because it breaks the cycle of misery.
Of all the things that are part of that, I'd mention two characters: Jackie and Evelyn. Especially Evelyn. After all the quests and efforts, we all know how Evelyn ends. This is a moment that hit me, personally, quite hard. It frustrated me, a lot. A frustration that I unleashed again and again through the course of the game, again Woodman, against Fingers, against Brigitte and VDBs. Good old blind vengeance.

And then came Phantom Liberty. At first it felt just like any other content and, to be honest, because of the vanilla endings that constantly tried to fuck up with V, I could not believe in the "miracle cure" that Songbird promised. It would have been a 180° from the usual tone, so I played the expansion, knowing full well there won't be any cure at the end of the road. With time, I began to care not about saving V, but about Songbird. And then at some point, I saw Reed and Alex execute the french twins like rabid dogs, in a dirty street.

More people that could have made it out alive, not to mention that perhaps the FIA would do the same to V, once the mission is over. That moment reinforced my mistrust toward the FIA while reinforcing my feelings toward So Mi. So when the moment came, of course I sided with her.

Then came the big revelation. That lie I never swallowed in the first place. Because of that, I felt no anger, no grudge, but I saw an opportunity. Remember how I mentioned Jackie and Evelyn? How frustrated I was because there was no way to save any of them. I made me saw a way to correct that, to get rid of the frustration and to finally being able to save someone.
This is where I fully realized that PL's story never was about V. It's Songbird's story and I had the chance to give her her own "Star" ending. So I faced the endless waves of Myers' troops, brought So Mi to the rocket and let her go, free.

And it was satisfying. I felt like I corrected something. I'll use an oxymoron and call it "self-centered selflessness". By caring about someone's else fate over my own, I "freed" myself from that feeling of guilt. And I felt good watching the rocket take off, with Johnny.
