no one here would be upset about it, quite the opposite. would basically boil down to this >>542108854 if not just an alternate history of "the English couldn't hold Ireland and we held on to our whole island as part of our Kingdom" sort of deal. Obviously we don't much like the British Monarchy for what they've done, but the romanticism of a Kingdom of Ireland is undoubtedly very popular here, so these changes kinda suck. If TNG could get away with saying the IRA won a united Ireland through terrorism during The Troubles, surely Cygames can give us a tiny bit of alt-history for fun

All supports get power crept usually. Unless they have some skill thats relevant for CM, most the time the newest generalist support card will be the better option. This doesnt mean the old cards are worthless, for example its still possible to use super creek in JP serverโ€™s current scenario. Itโ€™s not optimal, but still useable.

Chat does he know. Anyways, cards get powercreeped a LOT. Nowadays a meta card works for 2-3 scenarios, with Stamina being a sole exception as Creek was usable for like 2 years, and now she's replaced with Shakur which has been out for quite some time too. Also, we started getting double gold cards which make pretty much all the other options obsolete.

Cheers anons. I actually tried to look this up but couldn't find anything about Biko, how long will she remain useful as an speed card? Or I guess how long will decks be running 3/4 speed cards and use multiple cards as pure stat sticks since her gold skill is never used in CMs. Then again it's pretty weird to see nothing related to sprint tracks so will that ever change

I'm just planning my rolls and her banner is coming up, I could 3LB her with just one pull but I need carats for other stuff. Thanks for the replies

Can't tell you much about Biko, but you'll stop running lots of speed soon, probably with Aoharu. MANT will spice things up as you'll be going for guts meme mostly, and during and after GL you'll be running 2 speed cards max. Pretty sure that's when speed Tachy and speed Maruzen drop, and they'll be usable for some time.

Think CG's Ogurin and Joe's relationship but turned up to eleven. Both (You) and Furioso are from Funabashi and the two of you made a promise to each other to defeat those central hors and prove that local/Funabashi is strong too.
When Furioso was scouted to go to Tracen (You) tried to follow her but failed the central exam two years in a row, so you told her that you want to cancel her training contract with her since she's wasting her career just waiting for you, but she said that their dream would be meaningless without (You) with her.

Taxis is pretty (in)famous. Some call it the toughest jump on the continent but I dunno how much that's reality and how much patriotic puffery.
It gradually went through changes with the angles and such, to maintain its difficulty but lower the harm when things don't go okay, which they often don't, it's quite common every year for a bunch of falls to occur at Taxis. And jockeys often get mad that horses/other jockeys that aren't fit/experienced for the Taxis attempt it, approaching it too slow and causing injuries, etc etc.
This year the race moved up half an hour to 15:30 local, so that the obstacle casts a shorter shadow, which might help horses read it better. Seems like today will be overcast anyway, though.
Regardless it's a great event every year, the only one here that gets a lot of hype, foreign visitors from France or the UK and so on.

>On episode 3 and I'm so disappointed with the quality of US patrons. I love horse racing and it should be respected by the owners/patrons as a semblance of old school humility and pursuit of excellence in the breed....which by the way can be traced back to 3 sires. Yes, every single thoroughbred racehorse racing today can be traced back to 3 stallions. That is some to behold and should be embraced. This new despicable type of owner is nothing short of brash and trash. New money trying to be a part of old money. Sorry , but so far I'm just embarrassed how Netflix chose some stupid owners to portray the sport of kings. Netflix... you know nothing about horse racing.
Hah. Seems like Royal Family will do pretty well in the west with the horse racing crowd.

Ended up watching it on Netflix.
The first episode was solid, although there were a few times where I thought the direction (as in camera movement) was lazy. Like in the auction scene.
MC(?) actor is serviceable and owner picks up the slack well.

I feel that the conceit of MC wanting to make up for 'betraying' his father is kind of a tenuous starting point to 'save the horses'. Maybe the novel communicates it better, or maybe I'm just dumb.

Maybe I'm just a softy nowadays, but the old dude's outpouring of gratitude when Fight placed was good.
And of course, the keiba stuff was fun.
I hope the corporate B-plot doesn't take too much away from hors.

I don't think the two are related. The way I saw it, the MC wanted to save the horses because it was his fault the board decided to shutdown the keiba department, and he couldn't detach himself after seeing how much the owner and breeder cared for them. The whole father thing was more the MC finally realising what his father meant when he told him that there's more to their job than just looking at numbers.
>Maybe I'm just a softy nowadays, but the old dude's outpouring of gratitude when Fight placed was good.
Aye, that really got to me too. Didn't cry but definitely made me emotional. Small farm like that, the guy would have been raising and caring for Fight and Izanya since they were born.

But we do know he'd been falling off on his work/is demoralized before the inciting incident. That's the very first thing we learn about him, and they keep dropping hints as to the reason behind it all throughout the episode.
From a storytelling view, all the main beats for that character proceed from that.
So, why would the events of the episode drive him to be affected like that and do what he did?
For me, the answer the show gives came with the MC's after-race reveal (at the end of the episode, tying off with his intro at the start)
So, the story/subconscious reason why he sided with the owner over the son was because of his own father-son experiences. "Aren't they father and son?" he asks before setting off for Hokkaido.
I just think that the setup for why he felt for the breeder/was growing attached to the horses themselves wasn't really there, but the setup for why he ended up siding with the owner is.
That may be the reason why that one anon felt that they didn't do enough to show his getting mesmerized by the horses as well.

But I'm nitpicking at this point.
I'm writing a story myself, so I'm just being autistic here.
I definitely enjoyed it, and will follow.

Clovers are mainly for the monthly tickets but you can also use them for the weather and starting post items, good for LoH.

Are these ones that are sold in boxes with transparent fronts where you can see the actual figure? I've bought slightly cheaper figures where the box didn't show the actual figure inside and I'm glad I only bought secondhand unopened in-person because in my case (e.g. the Fuji Kiseki one in alternate casual clothes) while the figure looks and feels decent enough it's clear that it's not as good as what the nicely touched up photo implies. Of course the ones that just transparently show the figure inside are easier to tell whether they look good or not.

Australia is mainly gelding too? I thought they had a bunch of farms down there?
I remember Coolmore having a branch down there too, plus some Japanese hors getting sent down there during off seasons.

More in the sense that they're more comfortable with gelding horses in general
For example if you look at the Caufield Cup this year, most of the field are geldings

So it is. That's a surprise. With how much money gets thrown around in the Australia racing scene, I would have thought they would be totally adverse to gelding.

I recently bought Orfe and SiL+Ayabe bundle for 2k each. And no, Furyu didn't have transparent boxes. Those are usually at least 4k iirc.

Well that's the thing isn't it
When the prize money for big races is high enough, there's incentive to keep horses racing
In Europe the real gravy train is in the breeding farms, so why keep them racing for peanuts when you can retire them to stud?
In Japan's case it's more of a cultural thing (obsession with bloodlines, and originally breeding for warhorses). Geldings can't run in the Classics so ppl avoid gelding as much as possible
