I like the dueling sword because it stands in defiance of Fatshark’s belief that weapons should have stupid movesets with diagonal uppercuts and horde clear mixed with single target.
The simplest moveset in the game is also the best weapon everyone prefers to use, and it is so mind numbingly better than everything else that it actively makes the game worse. Not using dueling sword? Everyone else is, you’re a shitter. Using dueling sword? Enjoy actively giving yourself brain damage. There is no winning, only continued drudgery while the dueling sword meta remains.

I think the power sword is better on vet because it requires no investment, and untranny strike has lost relevance to krak grenades.
I think someone in a havoc party should bring skullcrusher, and support zealot isn't expected to deal a lot of damage anyway, so you might as well.
Havoc psykers don't even get any opportunity to melee, so they prefer knife for zoomies or any flavor of force sword for blocking.

It's obviously still a top-tier weapon, but you aren't stupid for not using it, as there are plenty of important reasons to use something else.
Things obviously look different in aurics and below where one must assume 3 worthless retards to have zdps against everything. I just find it curious that in the hardest content, it's very realistic to have a party without a single dueling sword.

I don't think the dueling sword needs THAT much investment, or that it forces you to use plasma at all, just because of the implied Weapons Specialist. WS plasma is massively overrated and mostly peddled by the fat retard femboy. Going down to Desperado is the most investment you really need, and Desperado is only taken because it's so fucking good and right there, so you'd be stupid not to take it. You can totally play recon las with that, or bolter, or bistol.
I think power sword is going to reign supreme on havoc vet forever, for no other reason than requiring no investment. It's the shooty class. You build around shooting good. Investing in melee is a waste of points when you have a personal bodyguard keeping the chaff off your ass so you can pop heads better. The only worthwhile investment are boosts that work for both your weapons, but all the shit left and center is just better, compared to the opportunity cost of pathing down to Desperado. Giving up piss tag + mod is silly, and once healing armor spam is over, MF will be allowed to shine.

Might be the lack of crit/finesse investment that you otherwise naturally path through on the way to WS. Don't neglect it, dueling sword tends to feel bad without it. Also check your blessings, you might want to run something slightly different than you usually do.

Just think of it as the best opportunity cost. It deals heaps of damage without investment, and can deal with almost every target better than average while also annihilating even mixed hordes. With horde clear and armor covered, your build can be basically anything, instead of pigeonholing you into frags for horde clear because dueling sword is somewhat bad at it once you get into havoc.
These are just suggestions btw, use whatever you want. Power sword is indeed incredibly clunky. I doubt it's even that optimal in aurics, even if it's still my preferred weapon on many builds.

It would be okay but don't expect it to rack up the incidental kills of the Rumbler. Grenade Gauntlet is more direct fire and suppression. Rumbler has more damage and a bigger damage radius; getting more out of the free shots
Grenade gauntlet has just enough epicenter AoE to kill a tight cluster of shotgunners but not much more. it does have a big field of suppression so your team can actually benefit from Coward Culling if you go through it, where that aura is already half useless with rumbler which doesn't have any suppression worth mentioning.
Grenade Gauntlet does feel better than the rumbler when hunting smaller elites, no waiting just quickly boom-dead, boom-dead, boom-dead

The problem is that 8 burn stacks isn't much, and if you're bringing this, chances are it's rumbler against bosses. Rumbler's boss damage is frequently overrated and not actually that high, it's most useful for stunlocking monsters after a shout/chorus in havoc, where teammates likely already have sources of burn that make yours basically useless.
Also seems completely pointless outside of havoc. Maybe there's some mortis build that makes the skill good.

Was playing Clandestium Gloriana with the dude and he just speedran the entire map, then 1 guy left early because they got tired of the ogryn's shennanigans and then another zealot leaves or crashed since the game was seemingly constantly disconnecting for them.
And when we finally got to the final part LOKI just starts the event and seemingly just disconnects leaving me alone to finish the mission.

Depends on what role you're going for. Even if you don't like it, it's usually flamer, whether for suppression support, brittleness support, or fat cocked boss damage. If you need fast special deletion for whatever arbitrary reason, you bring knives and accept not having stun grenades, as I'm pretty sure flamer + knives is still going to be better than bistol + stuns.
On which subject, I'm unsure whether the bolt pistol blast radius blessing works with stun grenades, and think it would be worth testing. Regardless, bolt pistol would still be my next pick for the express purpose of deleting specials, though I'm a little skeptical about the gunner breakpoints. Boltgun obviously works too, and has more ammo.
If you're going pure DPS zealot with stealth, recon las or laspistol could be worth considering, since you're likely critmaxxing really hard, so you can squeeze ammo efficiency out of Infernus.

The actual answer is to stop playing with drooling retards that make you feel like you need to kill specials with your ranged weapon. That's the veteran's job, or the psyker's when you're doing your own job of keeping the horde at bay.

I don't think I have ever had a pub mission in this game where I felt confident I could leave specialists to my team and they would still die. Even on Ogryn I'm pretty reliably killing the majority of them because people just ignore them. I'll test out the bolt pistol a bit.

Again, stop playing with retards. My experience with high havoc is that everyone implicitly knows what his role is and fulfills it without much communication needed. You can usually tell whether someone understands his role by inspecting his build. Because psyker and zealot are the most sought after and often core to many groups, and both revolve around weapons that are bad at range, it's up to the other 2 slots to kill ranged enemies. Veteran is the best at it, and 4th guy is usually a wildcard CC/bodyguard like ogryn or sometimes arbitrator, and rarely a damage zealot.
If your veteran is too braindead to shoot the shooters, that either means you're still climbing out of the trenches (my condolences), or you need to stop inviting plasma sissies because they all have brain worms.

I'd consider whether Deadshot, 15% elite damage near the top, or 20% damage after melee crit in the bottom right provide more damage, and drop the weakest one. I think it's Deadshot because you have a fast enough firing gun that it kinda demands stamina curios and Target Down! but you're not using a lasgun that would massively benefit from being built into crits. I'd understand if you were using a boltgun for popping heads, but IAG isn't that.
You could free up 2 points if you drop Deadshot and then no longer need Target Down! although it's still a strong node of course.

Deadshot is the dude with a skull on his chest, directly underneath Executioner's Stance.
Redirect Fire is unfortunately pretty bad because the overall damage is a small number that stacks additively with most other talents, and is thus not very efficient. Just take Grenade Tinkerer or something to delete bosses faster.

What would need to happen with the Power Falchion for it to be a better weapon? Is it blessing issue, damage vs. specific armor types issue, or is it a moveset issue? I tried perusing through the older threads from a few days ago when someone was really mad about it, but I couldn't find a consensus or a specific complaint about it.

Shooting carapace is usually retarded, so you need your melee weapon to be able to kill them. Spamming krak grenades into crushers isn't really feasible because there's often a lot of them, and you will also face monstrosities that need nading. The falchion is only okay against armor, and only while activated, and then the heat bar fills up and it becomes a useless paddle.
It's worse than the power sword in every way that actually matters, including reliability. It's just really clean and nice and clearing weak mixed hordes which aren't really a threat anyway.

More damage to annihilate bosses with, as that's mostly what you become. FotF's toughness restore isn't relevant enough to the massive amounts of incoming damage, CDR nerfs have hurt FotF spam a lot, the attack speed is largely irrelevant because even relic blade can't deal enough damage to thin hordes of rotten healers, and the list goes on.
You can also do objectives or get revives off with stealth, which FotF can't do. Providence's revive speed (and curios) can help with that, at least.
Stealth in general is an overpowered mechanic, so it'll always be kinda good for obscure reasons at worst.

The relic blade is on a class that is tailor made for melee and has abilities that make it better at melee. It also has a push followthrough stab -> light -> stab combo that does big damage into crusher heads, as well as a sprint heavy that also stabs heads good. I'm not 100% sure myself. Thunder hammer obviously works, but it's a shit weapon in most other situations and you'll likely be crutching either on flamer, or ogryn taunt to enable you. Dueling sword with thrust definitely works, but it suffers the most from the multi-stealth-attack bugfix. I've seen knife do REALLY well in aurics, but I haven't seen it used this way in havoc and am skeptical about it. Eviscerator likely works, but I have next to no experience with the weapon after putting it in the trash on previous balance patches.

Zealots are often expected to be brittleness support, wipe prevention with revive speed, and stun spam. Your choice of weapon is kind of secondary. You are almost always expected to bring chorus. For such builds, shock maul is good. Dueling sword is good. Tac axe is good. Knife is good. All usually for slightly different reasons, with different damage potential.

which you correctly identified, and it's not too hard to fix.
Focus Target! with the left node, Target Down! awards everyone with toughness regardless of who killed the target, and it will be a major source of toughness for you.
The top of the tree has sources of toughness regen, use them. It might be worth pulling a point from the bottom and sinking it in the top if you really are struggling this much with survivability.
Don't skip +15-25 toughness nodes when pathing, they're a big help.
Use weapons that can kill secure. Brown critmaxxed recon las with Deadshot works well because it's just a DPS monster, and the synergy between Deadshot and Target Down! is really nice. Bolt pistol, revolver, boltgun, plasma gun all work because they delete targets in single headshots. Basically use a better gun.

Knife is fine, but unless you build heavily into melee damage (or at the bare minimum, crits) it's mostly good for positioning. Power sword is the obvious choice if you're comfortable using it, if you're going crit the dueling sword is also obviously strong (and you can even go for strength blessing to increase its cleave). two aspects to account for,
knife has no stagger, even poxwalkers will recover almost immediately. You have a lot more incoming counterattacks than other weapons that might be throwing off your groove.
DoT stacks, like bleed, are owned by whoever gets the first one on. if you have a team with higher cleave weapons attacking at the same time there could be a lot of incidental bleed you are contributing to but doesn't count as yours.

Correct. The solution is to avoid getting hit. Knife stagger doesn't matter when you can just push trash, which is where stamina matters. Also the knife's push attack is incredible single target. The knife has so much mobility that being hit in melee shouldn't even be a consideration, you should be dancing around every enemy on the map, and if there's too many, dip with the heavy sprint attack.

Does it read like one? I have great success in aurics with a stealth recon las build that uses Focus Target! as a source of toughness. I do just fine in melee with a power sword. Cryo has obscene DPS when properly built, but is a humongous ammo hog and runs into range issues, while the overclocks that fix the range issues similarly run into ammo issues.
Swarmers are irrelevant, the microwave gun annihilates all small enemies without even building for it.
Flamer is considered to be the best mostly by modders because it becomes extremely ammo efficient and can kill probably the most enemies per resupply.
Bots are largely irrelevant. They're mostly confined to certain missions, and are just about flame resistant enough on the higher difficulties that you kinda want to be built specifically to cook them, else you're wasting time and ammo. Amazing when built to specifically counter them.
Sludge pump is commonly built wrong so people don't know how or why it's good. The overclocks are meme, low grav is actually the way to go, built purely for tap fire and using the charged shot ONLY as a panic button to quickly delete large hordes. It has the best range, and its only weakness is the faster bugs optional modifier that turns the gun into complete dogshit and makes the cryo vastly superior unfortunately.

All three are actually quite strong in many different scenarios and shitflinging over it is sub-100-hours behavior. Also the flamer is utter dogshit without overclocks.

Yes. The buildup of either hot or cold actively quelled the buildup of the opposite, and when either reached their active state hitting them with the opposite effect would cause a thermal explosion that often was much worse than the effect itself just continuing uninterrupted.
There was also the fact that the best equipment on the three classes that didn't have flamer and cryo predominantly had fire buildup side effects, and one of the meta team comps relied on igniting targets for the gunner to exploit with Volatile Bullets.
When it comes to getting the most out of driller, or solo driller really, cryo was better, especially if you learned to quick throw axes.

Thermal plasma is indeed scout's best weapon, because it allows him to actually survive when cornered in close quarters, but running into a swarm to grief your cryo is also fatherless behavior. In fact, being a dumbass grappling monkey zoomer is, too. I want the scout to mine, and only mine, and fight only when absolutely necessary for self defense. I still get pissed thinking back at the countless times I've more than doubled a scout's mining score as fucking gunner.

Hot laser is insanely powerful horde clear, with excellent ammo efficiency, virtually no skill requirement, and works at any range. It's extremely potent. Spinny line gun is also incredible but less effective in certain ranges and nowhere near as ammo efficient over the course of a mission.
Also, in general, if someone griefs the hot/cold build with cold/hot shit before it fully builds, you just friendly fire them dead and call them a faggot leaflover. Idiot teammates are a substantial reason I bring the BRT on gunner. It's a great gun, but it also just fucking deletes some asshole driller who thinks it's so fucking le epic to blow teammates up repeatedly and on purpose.

Strongly disagree. The revolver is just fire bullet memes, it's pretty bad in most other regards, and practically requires teamwork because the minigun is just so painfully inefficient. Sniping is cute, but not really necessary. Coilgun is very, very good for a lot of stuff, and probably what I would consider to be the best overall secondary. Thing is, gunner's second best primary (NTP thunderhead) really wants burst damage, which BRT solves completely without requiring you to wrangle your tards. Plasma missiles don't need the revolver at all either, though fire trail coilgun are great here to deal with small critters.
It's been a while so I'm not 100% sure on all of these, but I have like 300 hours in just gunner alone so I like to imagine I still know what I'm talking about. But also keep in mind that the only times I played with premades were super casual friends, so I didn't get deep into any specific team combos.

You can manually force it to trigger by pressing reload. Any nearby bugs run away from you and take a fuckload of damage. You can repeatedly just fire your gun, not even necessarily hit anything, and spam reload until you've weaseled your way out of a bad position like a tunnel or something. It's incredible for carrying bad teams as scout because it lets you actually fight huge swarms without kiting for 20 minutes or wasting all of your nades.

It also gives you a complete package in a single gun: Close range aoe, but just enough range to take out stationary enemies, while being very ammo efficient. That means you can bring special powder boomstick for maximum mobility without ever missing your secondary.

TEF causes an aoe burst of damage/heat when manually cycled with Manual Heat Dump or when overheated? I have never seen that mentioned anywhere, I thought the only way to do that was the Aggressive Venting overclock which scaled to a % when manually vented so it wasn't worth spamming.

I want a rework for existing staves.
Most of them need new primary attacks. It's incredibly lame that most of then have the same boring pew-pew balls.
And electrostaff needs a serious buff.
Also they should port bolt and coruscation staves to Darktide. Those were the most fun Sienna's weapons.

The primary fire for the electrostaff should be like a miniature smite but does more damage.
Also I think the secondary fire could use a small buff, like the lightning jumps from the 1st target to another one, I think they should increase the amount of jumps or enemies it jumps to and increase the damage.
Since currently it's so you can zap 1 enemy and deal like 600 damage on them and then it jumps only once to other enemy and does like 100 damage. They should make it jump like 3 more times but the damage falls off more gradually.
Like buff the staff base damage to like 800. 1st enemy gets zapped for 800, 2nd gets zapped for 600, 3rd for 400 and last 4th one gets zapped for 200.

Agreed. The primary should be a fan shaped fork of lightning with heavy stagger and the secondary should be the same single-target shock except it should jump whenever it crits, a potentially infinite number of times (but realistically capping off around 9.) That would be fun, dynamic, and take advantage of team synergy and the staff’s inherent crit bonus without stepping on smite’s toes.

Mostly though we just need a biomancy staff and a knuckle weapon for Ogryn so my friend and I can play Master Blaster.

I imagine the flow for the staff could be: Set up multiple charged bolts to get some jumps going, shout to amp damage, set up more bolts, spam primary to stagger while your bolts pop specials. Whip out Smite for Elites to let your Vet/Ogryn take care of them or if you’re rolling heavy on crit thanks to your Zealot and can just watch the lightning go.
