It's called playing with the players and not against them. Faster progress would go a long way, considering the enemy takes planets in 24 hours and we take multiple days. Everything feels like a giant slog. Nothing matters either; we could fight for weeks for Vernen Wells and it doesn't affect a goddamn thing for the bots. We just killed billions of them over an entire week and it doesn't affect them one bit. See your current situation where, some fucking how, you have Heze bay invading a planet while it's actively under siege liberation. Somehow they have enough to launch an invasion but not to defend themselves.

You fucking don't control every little aspect of the war. Find out where players want to go and SUPPORT THAT. You're supposed to be High Command AND the enemy, so why the fuck do you never, ever, support community efforts? You just made a squid MO that's completely fucking throwaway and it could have been to help the dumb squid divers take the Beach. But no, you just HAD to do your own thing. Our agency is a fucking nuisance to you instead of a guiding factor.

Pay attention to where people are attacking. Pay attention to online discussions. This is your fucking job. Start playing WITH us and not AGAINST us.

Ballistic Shield and Defender + Crisper has prover to be the tits on squids. Literally the only things that can bypass the shield are the Harvester’s eye laser and Stingeay strafes, even Fleshmobs get cucked and toasted.

Over the hours I've realized only the mini-nukes justify doing the artillery outside of full clearing the mission.

I would narrow that down to say just don't orbitals and use Eagles instead. I've been diving squids nonstop because the beach meme amuses me slightly and the only retards still there have been doing nothing but squids for a while now. Almost all of my lobbies have been decent to excellent there, people actually focus firing on flesh mobs when they see other divers chased by them and shit, people actually tagging watchers. I'm no longer even bringing Stalwart or WASP as mandatory anymore because I finally feel like im gud enuf to deal with almost everything, even the elevated groups dont annoy me anymore.

Make super leviathans, a special side objective, paired with a special samsite. They fly off the edge of the map no aggro but if you activate the special SAM it starts fucking it up and the whale will fly towards it all aggro.
The sam will fuck it up and expose weak points beneath the armor it blew up, but you gotta help the site, its just a little short of soloing it.

It's not the armor. Here's another clip in engineering kit armor. It seems like the player is not an eligible target for the arcs. Or at least not an eligible initial target. Any guard dogs that you're using are eligible targets. I tried to hit myself with a secondary arc, but I'm not sure if that's safe or if I just kept getting lucky.

Starts on a training grounds tutorial mission with POV in seaf being caught up in a bot attack. Distinguished service in the battle fast tracks him to go to the Diver Corps.

Mission 2 He gets sent to dive on bots in the final hours of when they got map wiped early in the war. The squad stops some bots from escaping off-planet. NPCs wonder where the bots were going to run to, heavily alluding to the bots revealing their 'real' army in a couple days.

Mission 3 Typical Nids planet level right after the last one. Fight through bugs and do normal bug planet stuff. Level ends with killing a dissident. They get info from the dissident that makes them targets for SE to kill lest it get leaked which is why the Demo officers order the pelican to not pick the team leaving them for dead with bugs. Sandstorm/gloom smokescreens for the divers to escape.

Mission 4 Continuation of the same bug mission. In desperait straits they have to traverse the bug territory and get to the front lines. Maybe they they have to fix a crashed puma to drive back or go though a tram line, whatever setpiece you like. What matters is the squad has to ditch their Diver armours before getting across the lines because their diver ID's are fugitive/KIA so they blend back into the seaf/civilians while faking it.

Mission 5 Squad ends up in transit off-world in a seaf ship doing cargo transport to the next planet that the mccguffin plot data pointed to. Bug infection is happening onboard and the mission is all about vibing to that Aliens movie homage. Team plays a vital part in quashing the infestatino. SE spooks who ordered the team's killing are in charge of this ship and sus out that a team of seaf non-combatant personel operating like helldivers is a lead and they keep an eye on them.

Mission 6 Team on the down low at a helldivers muster point get in contact with some of those guys and reveal the data's conspiricy to the divers who all then organize a small raiding party into a lab that was testing mind control before the bots overran that region. The squad gets auto-piloted into the heart of gloom space on Oshauna (This all being long before the gloom missions arc.) Mission is just a long protracted survival attempt as the SD above gets eaten with corrosive spore and the squad dying without any chance of escape. POV lasting the longest and does a sequel baiting that he survived solo on the hive world formonths until he gets found by the gloom expeditions.

Honestly, I like them as they are except maybe slightly better arc protection.
Even with the armor you die in 3-4 hits from a tesla tower even though its sole purpose is to protect from that.
Arc in general should also keep its ability to kill helldivers easily since that drawback requires a change in tactics when interacting with others.

Alairt was just a special kind of bullshit since the Mega City gave 40% progress but was unlocked at 75%, so it split the playerbase further to delay liberation right at the end. Hearthon at least has a good city unlock % for constant progress and Zea has the least city impact of the 3 planets.

But yeah, overall cities just lead to inflated planet HP pools and slower liberation. Sure we have situations where 1% of the playerbase decides to dive a city and liberate it, but they can't put a dent in the planets resistance rate and all the progress just disappears in a day. Then when/if the rest of the people come to liberate the planet they're down a city and slows down liberation for them, it's already happened twice on Erata. If anything Cities should both provide the boost to liberation and drop the resist rate, since you did just take a major enemy hub.
