How do I make the bone rotate so that it's always perpendicular to the cuve? The "follow path" constraint does that, but only as an animation, and I want to be able to just pose it like any other bone.

yo, so you're trying to get the bone to stay perp to the curve at any pose?
the "follow path" constraint is animation only, yeah.
what you wanna do is manually align the bone's local axis to the tangent of the curve at the bone's position, kinda like a "look at" but for the tangent.

here's a rough approach:

>add a "curve" object that's your path.
>add a "curve info" node (or just get the tangent info somehow) in your setup.
>use a "vector math" node to get the tangent at the bone's current position along the curve.
>then, set the bone's rotation to align its local axis with that tangent vector, maybe using a "rotation from vector" node or a "track to" constraint that you toggle on/off as needed, or just do it in script

if you're scripting, you can just evaluate the tangent at the bone's current position on the curve and set the bone's rotation to match.
the key is: calculate the tangent vector at the pose's current location and then rotate the bone to align with it.

TL;DR: don't rely on "follow path" for pose control. instead, sample the tangent and set the bone's rotation accordingly, either via constraint or scripting.

You're on a roadtrip with your friend. Left stick controls car movement. ABXY is used to respond to your friend as he talks to you and you have to answer him. experimenting with a new move added to the game; the "SOUL" bubble shield. pressing the soul shield input brings out a soul shield that blocks all projectile attacks in the game and adds another layer of making projectile enemies be easier to playtesters. You cant move while blocking/guarding with it. Need to test it and consider its balance some more and if I want to add a limit to how many projectiles you can block before it breaks or have it be unlimited since it already disables your movement. Physical attacks from enemies will go through it so it doesn't block everything.

However, not everybody really meshes with the process of composing music. I've found some people can just bash some notes around and feel out some chord progressions that sound good or some melodies whereas others would have to learn music theory in-depth to produce something good. Unfortunate.

I love gamedev on a completely silent fanless Macbook Air. It's been a game changer. At first I thought I'd be going out to cafes and have cute waitresses asking me about my game (that didn't work, no one gives a shit) but sitting in complete silence while working has supercharged my productivity.
I can't believe I tolerated having fucking propellers inside my computer all these years. No wonder all my games flopped.

I've got nostalgia for that nearest-neighbour PS1 look, but when modern indie games attempt it I usually don't like the results. It's often accompanied by an excessively high render resolution, or a much higher texel density on some objects than others, or ridiculous-looking fake vertex jitter applied in a vertex shader, or a general inconsistency in levels of asset detail.

I suggest going for left only if you're committed to making something that could actually have shipped on a PS1 or a mid-90s software rasterised PC game. Maybe even actually write your own software rasteriser, instead of using a modern renderer with workarounds to make it look old. Otherwise, maybe stick with right and go for a PS2/GC level of detail instead.
