You guys forget that these trailers are made more for artistic expression around the characters than as a worldbuilding document. ZZZ’s animation style is also distinctly stylized, so these trailers lean more toward exaggeration and consequently comedy, in order to make better use of that type of animation’s potential rather than aiming for something realistic and dramatic. If anything, it seems like the devs are only now starting to understand this core of ZZZ, and that’s a good thing, because it sets it apart and makes it more unique compared to things that try to be serious all the time.

Maybe try adding some shonen kino characters. Instead of these garbage open zones, add one big map (like FF7 Rebirth) for combat and all that shit and call it the ‘Wilderness’ and periodically update it ever 2-3 patches filled with minigames and bosses and the aesthetic reflects that of a desolate place. Write a story that gets people hyped, stop this tactic of releasing a character and their story in 1 patch, build a cast for the main story of season 2 (like they did with season 1)
